    Hello All,

Does anyone find the deployment clasp irritating to the skin or some other annoyance?

My 5022 clasp, when the stap is on the PPC correctly, digs into my skin. Moving too one more notch makes the strap bigger than I prefer. Therefore, I purchased a strap without the deployment (I am embarassed to provide the company name as I would probably be banned from the forum). However, I did not find the third party strap much better.

Therefore, this morning I reinstalled the original IWC strap, but backwards accidentally. Now the hinge of the deployment is facing me (IWC is upside down).

This method appears to be more comfortable thus far, but only after a few hours of wear.

If anyone finds the deployment clasp uncomfortable and has suggestions, please let me know.

timerider27@yahoo.com is a good email address.

    Thanks, Eric

Not sure if this is a "technical" issue, but the curve of the deployant isn't for everyone and reversing often works. Some people wear their watches unusually tightly too, which is difficult with most deployants.

Your comment about mentioning another strap causing banning from the forum was in jest, I assume.

    Michael,

I chose this part of the forum for the subject as it seemed to fit the subject in my mind.

The comment on the 3rd party strap was fully in jest. If someone has a recommended IWC strap maker, I would be very happy to know the name and contact information.

I feel lucky in a way, or I got used to it. With bracelets it is easy, I tranferred links from one side of the bracelet to the other side until the closed bracelet, hanging from the clasp, forms a kind of square, which means that while the watch resides at the top of my wrist, the clasp sits in the middle at the other side of my wrist. Like, with my titanium Ingenieur Automatic. With my Portuguese Perpetual Calendar this procedure was not possible, here the deployant sits on the outer side of my not too big wrist. Here luck comes in: it sits quite well, but when I have to change my strap I will go for the eXstra Small version.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

Wonderful! Thanks for giving me this link and now I have something to consider.

I had a similar issue with my Deployment Clasp.

If you read the posting done by Bob - you see the solution. My story was:

My issue was in the fact that despite the "size' of the strap being OK (meaning it was not to lose or to tight on the wrist) -

    1) the "logo'd part of the buckle - did not sit in the middle of the back side of my wrist - and was off centre. Cosmetically disturbing at least
    2) despite the "fit" being OK - the watch had a tendency to move off the centre of my wrist after some hour or two of active wear - as the curve of the deployment buckle found it's way to where it "sat best" on my rather small wrist.

Surprise surprise - discussed with my AD and Schauffhausen actually had replacement alligator straps, which where shorter on one side (allowing the deployment clasp to both sit in a better position on my wrist, and the logo'd buckle part now sits middle of my wrist.

Bob's solution is based on strap size - I am sorry I did not at the time look to see if my solution was actually based on a change in strap size (I believe not ) as the strap does not seem longer and it still fits the same wrist with the strap with holes in it appearing NOT to be longer. Either way, if this is a single component change, or as Bob writes a strap size change - it was for me, the perfect solution).
