    hello all,

This is my first post on the forum so bear with me. I recently got an Der Fleigerchronograpgh Automatic from my father as a hand-me-down gift for my birthday. I couldnt be happier with it. It looks great and I knew of the prestige of the International Watch Company and their renown reputation for fine time peices. I like to consider myself as an "aficionado" of fine watches and i am barely starting my collection.

I would like to know a bit of info on my timepiece, if i understand correctly is "discontinued" and i could not find it in the collections on the website. when i google it i can only come across pages that are selling similar watches.

Maybe if anyone knows how i can find when it was made by using the case number or "serial number" on the watch? its 3052195, by the way. any general info would work i would definitely like to know more about the collection. it seems to resemble many of the timepieces in the "Pilots Watch" collection.

Is it possible to post pictures of my watch on this forum? Again sorry for the lengthy post, im new at this, and thank you in advance for the help!

    Fernando

    Hi,

Welcome, it greats to receive a timepiece from your father and wear it in good health.

You can try to check the history of your iwc through this website, www.moeb.ch/dyIWC/.

Does your dad still keep warranty card or any information, etc?

As for posting of picture, I use photo bucket to upload my picture and you can paste the image link on your comment, your picture will be uploaded once you post your comment.

Congratulations Fernando, and welcome to the Forum. To post your photo(s), if you go to the archives (magnifying glass top right corner of the menu bar), look up the previous post of Aug 30, 2013 "PLS IDENTIFY MY WATCH" and you will see the information from Bill B., which provides a diagramatic instruction on how to upload jpeg photos to Photobucket and post in IMG code. Good luck. PS: we should then be able to provide you with further information.

    Hi Fernando,
the 3706 is not produced anymore. The current model is a successor. The movement is quite similar. But the dial and case changed quite a bit.

Fernando, you can find out a lot about the ref. 3706 via this site's search function (upper right magnifying glass).

The 3706 is a great way to start your IWC collection - I will leave it the others though to comment further on it.

    Cheers,

    Ben

Congratulations Fernando, welcome to the forum.
The 3706 is a fantastic watch, an icon!
For some background, it was replaced around 2006 with model 3717 which in turn was replaced last year by 3777.
    Enjoy your watch :-)
