I was wondering if there are any of the pilots actually flying with one of the models? Anybody know?

Believe it is beyond the means of most. nt.
Unless they became airline pilots.
Not currently . . .
but IWC did send a group of watches (five doppelchronographs) to be field tested by some of the TOPGUN pilots for a certain amount of time. If you look in the archives you will see that one pilot (LCDR Snodgrass) stated that he knocked his watch pretty hard in the cockpit with no harm done to the watch. After the test period, the watches were sent back to IWC NA.

Hehehe! ;-) nt.
Thanks George and all!
That pretty much is what I figured. But you just never know. :-)

I believe the conclusion to...
be drawn is that no Top Gun Pilot is a member of this forum.
actually Lt. Snodgrass is...
and you can find his posts via an archives search. He and I stay in touch via e-mail, although lately we've both fallen behind.

Michael
P.S. If I recall there's only about 28 Top Gun active pilots, so the population from which to draw participants here isn't large.
Does he own the Top Gun? nt
Do any Top Gun pilots have an IWC Top Gun?
here!!
but not a topgun, i have spitfire mark 16
Somewhat surprised you would choose >
a silver dial instead of black.
Cheers from Isobars.
when I first met him...
He was just getting into watches, and wanted to learn more.
Keep in mind that the pilots are young guys, with very interesting jobs but not the mostly high paid ones in our society. If I recall correctly when the Top Gun models were launched Guy was about 4 or 5 years out of the Naval Academy. Since then I believe he has acquired an IWC watch but I think it's a less expensive model than the Top Gun. But also I don;t keep track of what he might own .

Michael
