websites are saying it's a $40,000 dollar IWC Vintage Ingenieur
I personally think it's the Tribute to Italy, can anyone confirm?

Could it be the Platinum version of the Vintage Ingenieur? That would probably be in the right price range?
Kind regards,
Clemens
Looks like the right size case and dial to be the VE
The thing is, I think the websites are wrong about it being a $40,000 VE. The only platinum VE (listed on the website/current catalog) with a white face comes with a black leather strap, the only white face VE with a brown leather strap is 18k yellow gold.
The Limited edition VE tribute to italy IW3233-09 comes with a very light cream face and a tan leather strap (note the second picture). With my limited knowledge regarding IWCs, I don't know of any other white face/brown leather strap non-vintage "vintage-edition" Ingenieurs.
When the photo was first published aces years ago I think we wrote about it in the forum. See anything in the archive ? If I remember correctly it is the VC Ingenieur in white gold and apparently also one in rose gold too. (Google it).
I believe the photo was taken well before the VC Ingenieur - Tribute to Italy was available.
Straps are easily changeable, including when purchased at the dealer if the customer prefers.
The photo on the very right would suggest that the year is 2010 (knight and day).
I'm not sure about the other two... but they look post 2010 aswell
in the appropriate light, the platinum limited edition vintage ingenieur's dial can look a bit creamy ...
some others...
