Upon googling different straps for the FA Jones, I noticed there is not much diversity. I guess I somewhat understand that the unique 22mm lug size plays a major part in that. Aside from the IWC alligator/croc strap are there other options? Calf? Leather Nato?

I was looking to see if a kevlar big-pilot (no rivets) would look good but apparently not since there are no images I was able to find. What's even more rare is to find one with the appropriate deployant clasp length.

The first question might be: what kind of strap do you like for your Portuguese FA Jones? You name quite some possibilities. I have two Portuguese Handwounds, very much like your Jones, they look classy and dressy, I like the croc straps that are standard for these watches. So, I would go to the AD and order the appropriate strap, maybe the Santoni variation.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

Thanks for your input. I know many of these Portuguese are very dressy watches. I was just wondering if there are straps, apart from the croc, to dress them down somehow.

Any 22/18 mm strap should work. But admittedly most of IWCs are alligator today (croc is an endangered species and never used). Many after-market watch strap companies make any straps in that size.

The problem is your deployant buckle. The strap sizes so that it centers well are limited. You have four choices here

    1) change to a tange buckle
    2) live with the buckle being slightly off-center
    3) ordering a custom strap (there are some good suppliers in Paris)
    4) using an IWC strap like for the Big Pilot or a few other models

Keep in mind that IWC doesn't manufacture straps itself.
