Hi, I understand that IWC has a one year warrnty on manufacturing defects but my watch literally started falling apart after 1 year and 23 days. Will it be covered under warranty? Australian consumer law states that the goods should be covered regardless of the manufacturers warranty if the goods should reasonably be expected to last longer. Can IWC or anyone advise where I stand with this. One of the push button and the winder dropped off. Help please.

IWC's warranty is for two years, if the IWC was bought new from an IWC authorized distributor. It is impossible to judge on a forum what happened to you watch so there is no universal guarantee should the watch have suffered damage from abuse. This is not to say you did anything to cause the problem, it just not possible here to make a judgement. Good luck.

To produce a watch where a button and the crow dropping of the same day, needs geniuous engineers. Congratulation to IWC to such genious persons in the development team.
More likly is for me a damage by hitting the watch against an edge what easily may happen. (I got some experien in it).

But you could be lucky, when not complaining to much about the quality, to get repaired the damage as goodwill by the autorized dealer.

    regards

I can absolutely guarantee the watch didnt get hit against anything. There would be indications if this were the case. I will send the watch away to Sydney as there is no service agent here in Perth Australia and see what they say. I resent the implication that I damaged the watch and am trying to claim where I shouldnt be.I suggest Ralph keeps his inane and unhelpful comments to himself in future.
