    Hi IWC'ers,

I have only just discovered this forum, I am glad I did today as I came VERY close to having a rush of blood and purchasing my first vintage watch over the weekend.

I am sorry to add to what is probably a huge real v. fake posts but I would really like to benefit from the collective experience of the group.

    I am looking at a 1974 Stainless Steel Cal 89 vintage watch from 1974. I have the case number @ 2213472 & the movement number @ 2223322.

Could someone please comment on these stats please?

    Thanks,

    A

    Hello,

not much too say without Pictures of the watch.

The serial number look to be from a Caliber 89 dating from 1974 and the case number was most probably produced in 1978 and delivered up to 1979.

Now that I see a picture, that watch looks perfect and in very good condition. Maybe polished a little brightly, but very nice indeed.

Cal 89 is on record to be produced up to 1976. Cases and movements were manufactured separately so it is conceivable that it was cased later.

As this is a non commercial site - please edit your post to remove the link to the advertised watch.

As regards the watch itself. It's genuine and both the movement and the case etc. are all genuine IWC.
