What a great watch!
It's good to see it is finally on your wrist. I hope to see it in real life some time!

MF, Why the hour wheel had roman numerals?
Is a tradition?
I'm really happy for you....I can imaging your face wering it for the first time....
Hope to see it in person soon.
Regards!
Most Régulateurs going back
Take 2
Most Régulateurs going back to the first with Ferdinand Berthoud have used Roman numerals. This could be do to the influence of French Longcase clocks which were never as popular in France as England. And by the mid 18th century they tend to become used by chonometer makers.
Actually Freddy, I find the Arabic numerals on the IWC 5444 are much easier to read then the Roman numerals. With the Arabic numerals at just 12, 3, 6, and 9 it is easy to see the hour very quickly by just the position of the hour hand. With the Roman numerals, I find myself having to read the numeral first.
I am a huge fan of the 5444.
Cheers from Isobars.
WOW, that's an answer...thanks Isobars. (NT)
