Just picked up my "NEW" Ingenieur Mission Earth. My first impression in a word is BIG!!! This is definitely a watch that can compete with the big pilot in size, appeal and looks.

I have been wearing an Ingenieur 3227 AMG and this watch is in a different league.

The case is big, the crown big and the crown protectors add to the big look of the watch. Even though this watch has a rubber strap the steel case reflects and shines brightly in the sunlight.

The black dial is big and sporty with dabs of red and is easy to read. I have had a chance to check out the luminosity in the dark and it is very good and bright. Compared to the 3227 it is a big improvement and there is a different luminous pattern to other Ingenieurs, with luminous dots mixed together with the regular luminous hour markers. The hour markers and hands are large and there is a lot of metal here. Only the 12 and 6 markers are numerals. The hands are interesting because they have 2 luminous stripes in each giving them a modern and funky look.

The strap is black rubber and so far seems soft and makes this big watch more on the comfortable side than not to wear. The strap has on both sides, the Ingenieur pattern on it. The watch fills my wrist but sits well and the strap adjustments allow for a good adjustment.

The back of the case is relatively clean with International Watch Company and INGENIEUR written.

For the future, I know that this big watch is going to be very hard to NOT scratch and I do not know how I am going to feel about that because I like watches to have no scratches!!!!

By the way I looked through the instructions and found out this watch, like the pilot watches, has a glass that stays in place when there is a sudden drop in pressure.

I think that IWC has done a very good job with this watch!!!!!!!

    Wish me luck,

    Regards,

    dand
