I just published a short first impression report but I mainly want to share the images of this watch.

Thank you Harry for the article and pictures.
I tend to agree on most of your points, your pictures are once more amazing.
The RG is probably the dress of all the dress watches.
I have the 5454 white face, black sub dial on a brown strap and it's one of my favorites. Truly a classic.

Thanks for sharing your report here. I agree completely and always splendid photography too.
That looks spectacular. If ever a watch was just made to wear with a suit, that's the one.
I hope you'll post some more of your great photos.
just oozes class and sophistication. thanks for the report - although i'm personally a big fan of the increased size. regards, thang
Thank you for the report and photos! Really great watch, I like it very much!
Thanks for the report and the tremendous effort!
Here is one more image which I thought I should share even though the quality is quite poor. Jeffrey Sim was with me at the IWC Boutique and he was wearing this smaller brother of the Portuguese. Here is a comparison capture side by side with the 5454 Black dial version.

Harry - thanks very much for crediting the watch owner. Yes, the smaller Port is the Ref. 3531 with 36mm case. I love it for the script, the size and the colour - it's usually THE dress watch for formal events.
And what better way to return to the IWC Collectors' Forum after a very long break? It's good to be back and connecting with fellow IWC collectors, far and near, new and familiar.
It may be the smaller brother but it has the one thing that all IWC fans love - the beautiful long hand script on the dial.
Thanks Harry for an informative report and the usual first class photography!
A charming doublet.

Curious, I tried to post another image of the White Dial SS version but got a message that my post is being moderated.

It's just the spam filter. Happens every once in a while to me also. MF will correct it.
Thanks for the reply Alan. Maybe its the new webserver I am using. Trying another webserver service. Maybe this will not trigger the spam filter.

Oh! It works!
Anyway, this is the White Dial SS Port Handwound. I personally think that for those who can carry it off, it will look great on a nice honey brown crocodile or alligator strap. That would highlight the gold markers and hands.
Another wonderful picture Harry! I agree that it's a big watch, I have tried it on but felt it was a bit too big for me.
Kind regards,
Clemens
PS: as for the spam-thing: I had this with a post of mine with lots of pictures. The post appeared a bit later. Probably somebody or some Artificial Intelligence is checking if it's not some spammer trying to sell who knows what overhere.

Very beautiful pictures of a very beautiful watch. As for the article, I don't agree the watch is too big. I own both the steel and the rose gold Vintage Collection Portuguese, they suit my 17 cm wrist (about 7 inches) quite well. 44 mm diameter an 10 mm height is a great size combination assuring smart looks and comfortable wear, I know for 3 to 4 years now. By the way, wrist shots tend to make the watches bigger than they really are.
Kind regards,
Paul

Indeed, Jeffrey - I entirely agree with 'die kleine Portugieser' being the perfect dress watch. Need to take my calliper out again to remeasure - I always believed it to be 35 mm in diameter ...

Funny, I always thought of it as the little sister - the elegant, accomplished sister, of course, but not a brother. I share your feelings about the beloved and sadly departed script signature.

Thanks for the report Harry! RG black dial is always a warm, beautiful combo IMO. cheers!
