Good afternoon (at least in Europe) everyone!
My name is Michael, i am from Germany and here we go:
I am occasionally lurking around this forum but never saw the "need" for posting. As a matter of fact (induced by my grandpa´s watch) i´m very much into Omega as my favourite brand. Although it is somewhat an "anchorbrand" in my collection, there is also still room for other interesting wristwatches if they present themselves along my way of the WIS.
Two weeks ago such an Non-Omega-Incident occured :-) And i find it quite reasonable to take the opportunity to introduce myself and my first IWC, the 3568 Boutique-Edition of the Aquatimer, known to some people as the "Fanta".
I wasn´t aware of it´s background and this forum helped in diggin´ it out. So THX for that! I was surprised to read that only 300 pieces seem to have been produced, because i think that it´s design appeals to a much greater audience. But given the history of it´s origin: good for me that i could grab one! :-)
I like the craftmanship of the watchcase, i like the dial (especially the lume! -although the lume-application on the markers could have been done a bit more carefully- seems to be a problem of the orange lume-material) , i like the whole watch as an honest piece of engineering. Given that, we´ll have to see if this will remain the only IWC that i own.... :-)
THX for listening and a great holiday-season!
Regards, Michael
