    Hello
Just joined as an admirer of IWC. I am about to get an 3777-01 and what puzzled me is the caseback:

    • on the one I'd like to buy second hand this is the text "FLIEGERUHR . INTERNATIONAL WATCH CO." around the caseback.

    • on all official pictures on iwcwebsite the image of caseback displays: "FLIEGERUHR . INTERNATIONAL WATCH CO" around the caseback

The big difference is the last lower dot "CO.".
Question: if there is a lower dot at the end of CO does it mean it's a fake?

    Thank you
    Ben

Hi Ben, welcome to the forum.
If you check the image of the Mark XVII Fliegeruhr caseback on the Website, there is a dot next to the "CO" engraving. So it does not necessarily mean it is a fake.
But I am not an expert in casebacks and engravings, others may have more detailed information about it. Might be a different housing series...

    Hi Tom,

Thanks for your feedback and pointing out the example of the Mark XVII.
I think it looks like a detail but it's actually important as it touches the brand perception and how it's displayed in every part of the product. Consistency is a value.
