Thank You, Schaffhausen!
To think the "Best Forum" by the "Best Watch Company" will soon be even better is just "Awesome."
Best regards,
-Joe
Dear Collectors and friends of IWC,
there is always a lot to do in Schaffhausen and unfortunately sometimes also unforeseen delays.
We are working intensely on the mentioned forum modifications so the changes should be finished by end of July.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact your moderator Michael Friedberg.
With best regards from Schaffhausen
Looking forward to the benefits of your hard work and determination to improve the infrastructure issues we all are living with each day.
Oliver, we know you guys are busy out there in Schaffhausen! ...and while it brings workload pressure for you and the team, we collectors rest in the assurance that it's a good sign of IWC growing stronger and better by the day.
We do appreciate the fact that IWC has listened to our feedback, and await patiently for the new features, which will make our regular daily visits to our most favorite of places (this forum) an even greater experience.
Best regards
Mark
One of the things that went out the window on the description of the models was the weight of the various watches. I tried a titanium AMG auto recently with bracelet and I was shocked by it's weight until I remembered it's soft iron cage. They also had a Chrono version again in titanium but that was way too big for my taste...and wrist. Weights were displayed previously on the collection on the previous version of this website so I am not sure the reason for dropping it in the details. Shame, but maybe that can be a simpler update if they choose to reintroduce it to the online description.
I agree with you, I asked for this mentioning of the weight too. But I am not so sure this request will be honoured again, because a heavy watch may not always be a pre: the collection department of this site is supposed to make the watches as attractive as possible. The same goes for strap sizes: they would be handy to order a strap, but this information could also be used to order a non-IWC strap, there is no reason to facilitate such an action, alas.
By the way, IWC makes a great job of its collection part of this site: I yet have to find other web sites that do this better. Patek Philippe comes close, Blancpain is horrible in this respect.
Kind regards,
Paul
The weight is already captured in the internal dealer stock catalog which is of course not for public perusal. What I do is to ask the customer service personnel to tell me the exact weight. I think the weight is also useful as a further point of verification when buying pre-owned watches.
Yeah IWC's presentation of its active collection is done well: classy, simple & adequate. I find many others, including brands I really like, to have too much flash animation, hard to navigate, can't work on browsers other than IE, and timepiece information that has too much, or too little.
Dear Collectors and friends of IWC,
due to several weeks of illness the forum modifications will unfortunately be delayed slightly but we are working with high pressure to implement the changes.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact your moderator Michael Friedberg or me directly.
With best regards from Schaffhausen
