Yes Martijn, matte black dials for Fliegers! :-))

    Best from Isobars.

MF - you have my vote. I think the Worldtimer would be too expensive (although I do like it!) Or Spitfire Chrono / Glass caseback with that Spitfire rotor?

    Best regards

+1 and put me down for one of these!

I also like Isobar's idea very much (BP, no date, SC, blue hands - yum), but size may be an issue for some.

The prospect of a CF3 is indeed exciting news.

    Cheers,
    Evan

    Dear Alan,

I'm in for the Mark XVII too.
    Suggestion:
    Blue Dial/ Blue Strap.
    or
White dial/ Blue marking & hands/ Blue strap.

Personalization with name & special engraving, superb.

    Very much in....

Great post Alan, my pick will be a steel case world timer with more colours on the dial. Cheers!

Whichever watch, as long as its a Pilot's.
Missed out on the 1st, didn't really like the 2nd, hoping to acquired the 3rd.

In my humble opinion we should leave the Mark versions alone as they are too classic. If we can get one in 2012 my suggestion is a more modern choice - and the Worldtimer would be perfect!!

    Thinking, thinking, thinking...

I'm still in the opinion the AT or Portuguese, both vintage collection, would be the best choice:

    • In-house movement
    • Iconic IWC
    • Affordable price
    • Available from the current collection
    • Easy to "customize" (solid back) to get something "exclusive"

Moreover, the vintage collection price list didn't suffer of the latest mark-ups, I believe.

That's exactly what I was thinking (wearing my personal hat).
    Imagine a Vintage Ingenieur with

    a) solid back
    b) antimagnetic shield in the case (might not fit, though)
    c) ardoise, non-reflective dial, identical to the CFI

To me that's a winner, given the attributes you've mentioned.

Re the VC Ingie, if a display back then the rotor could be marked CF in some way, obviously no AM properties.

Love the Laureus blue sunburst.....is it borrowable or not?

OK you are elevating prices a bit gentlemen but in any case IWC could show some of the usual affinity to collectors by making an offer nobody can refuse, there ll be 100 at least not a very big number for today's IWC but a rather significant one.

Argiris --I estimated that in the 10,000 CHF range the forum could "sell" 100 pieces, but in the 7,000 or below CHF range possibly 200 pieces could be sold. I was concerned about allocation issues if demand vastly exceeded supply.

Which IWC watch (or group of watches)is/are the most famous? I would say the Pilot.
If this is the first time an IWC watch is made for the Forum (if realized) I would wear the nostalgic glasses and opt for a pilot as the Forum watch.

The XVII is obtainable pricewice or the Worldtimer.

...but what about a reedition, would that be a possibility or is it out of the question?

I would be happy also with a Vintage Inge with a white, ardoise, or blue dial and a solid case back with a CF emblem. A soft iron inner case would of course be highly desirable, if it were possible.

To have both in-house movement and pilot style, a Vintage Pilot's watch could a good choice. It is thinner than the VC Inge and the difference in diameter is in practice not noticeable imho.

I think one way to create a nice CF Pilot's Watch could be something like this:
    koti.welho.com/jriihela/iwc_pilot_cf63.jpg

A SS Vintage Pilot's watch with the green hands and numerals changed to a similar hue of orange/yellow as used in Miaramars. A solid back with a CF emblem. There is probably no room for a soft iron inner case, unfortunately, but even without it, I would definitely be interested in getting one.

Michaels VC Inge suggestion sounds very interesting as the regular model has been calling my name from the AD window for some time.

I`ve got to admit with Michael absolutely - because:

    1. A fine Ingenieur also would be excellent - a really good alternative choice.

2.If it would be not too expensive I too would be able to afford one - and may be even with a alternative available beloved bracelet :-))).
Yes, I know that would be for an extra charge of course :-((.
But my special wish: no glas back but a solid steel back.

PS an Ingenieur Mission Earth (with bracelet) I would love too. I even would love it very much!

Well I thought of buying the vc Inge a few times but didn't get it in the end so.... It would be a nice idea too.

Would hope a soft inner iron case could be implemented.

And maybe a nice ardoise like the cfi I souls be nice or a silver dial like the ref 866 with white gold applied indexes....and why not NON date and use the space for the ferraday cage?

Any idea when we hear more MF? Thanks in advance for all your efforts!!
