Well.. I've certainly thrown my support for a MARK and my vision of the design, but now I would like to offer yet another consideration. This MARK has been discussed many times b/4 and what a perfect opportunity to make it happen the way we Forumers would like it to look.

    WHITE DIAL MARK XVII

    And here's my take....

    *No Date

    *Complete Hour Markers

    • CF3 (in Red) and Automatic(in Black) Printed

    • Black Buffalo or Nylon/Kevlar Strap

    *Engraved Back

    • "Bonus" Travel Pouch Included

    Dreaming is fun,

    Andy

I'm in Alan! And great that you 'dare' to start this topic ;-)

I also agree on your other mail with the process proposal, taste/preferences will vary to much anyway to please everyone.

In case it matters, my preferences are:
    * simple & classic: Pilot or Portuguese
    * steel
    * individually numbered (not "1 out of x")

    Regards,

    Bob

So, it would look something like this maybe:

    I like the idea.

The posts here seem to have settled on calling the proposed model CF3. May I offer an option of CFP (Collector's Forum Pilot). We have affectionately used CFI and CFDV in the past. CF3 doesn't resonate too well with me. What do you think?

If we agree on a pilot watch I like CFP. GOOD CALL!

Bill I proposed marking the dial CF or CF3, at the moment we have no model or models to talk names, CF or CF3 can be tweaked to suit the final result, what I liked about the dial being so marked was it will cause a great question mark to appear from some people and then the questions will start, if no question then there may still be the look of bewilderment. But if you own one then any other owner will be a forumer. Beats old school ties rings and funny hand shakes, I am forever checking what people wear on their wrist and it's nice to see a decent watch especially if it's a favourite brand let alone model. The idea of CF3 was like a mark number because there will be a time when we will struggle through old age to remember the order of issue.

CFI CFDV now CF? But in years to come we or our successors do another CF I DV or whatever, still think CF3 is a good idea as it it's specific to the watch. Am happy to try and understand your misgivings Bill, but not understanding it so far. In the forum we can use what we like just as we have PPC Ingies and ATs.

I stand with Bill on this one. CFP resonates much better to my ears, than CF3.

    Best regards

My latest iterations with CFP (a.k.a. CF3)

    Blue dial:

    Ardoise dial:

The current IWC families total seven including Pilot, Portuguese and Portofino.
Therefore CFP is ambiguous if not today then certainly in the future and self limiting leaving AT VC for the future. I am staggered that no one can see the above.

If it's going to be a pilot's, then we should use CFF: Collectors Forum Fliegeruhr.

Good way to honor the German people who recently joined the English forum.

Just an idea, don't kill me :)

    So what is next?
Do we brainstorm a bit more?
Do we wait Schaffhausen to propose anything?

I think we should make a new thread named "Vote for the new CFW" or something similar and since MF is our Moderator and liaison then he delivers our votes and thoughts to Schaffhausen and back.
Then God permitting we ll have a date a price and a new CFW.
    What do you think?

Well, my vote is to wait until I hear back from Schaffhausen. I contacted them on Sunday (Monday morning really) but I expected this to take at least a week. Many people and departments have to be consulted. I'll keep everyone posted, and also will be following up with Schaffhausen as best I can.

Whose trying to kill you, Roberto? ;)

My idea is that CF3 refers to a specific model as will CF4,5 etc otherwise we will run out of models very quickly if we mark them as CFP CFA etc. We can call them in the forum by any nickname you want just as we have our nicknames for other families and models.
If the majority are unhappy about how the dial is marked CF3 CF4 or CFP then let's cut it to CF, but again it's ambiguous. I was trying to mark the dial with something that shows whilst on the wrist its a forum variant and it's the third fourth or whatever CF model. The CFI I wanted to sign up for but it's anonymity was disappointing and I had project bills pilling up so had to pass the chance. Current DV shape does nothing for me so no CFDV.

Any chance IWC can create chat rooms for this sort of thing?

Sounds good to me. Hopefully, there could be some mechanism to sign up and add some type of deposit so we could gauge the really interested Collectors.

All I have to say is.....VERY EXCITING!

This is meant about a side discussion, not about the writer of the almost quote, to be sure. Of course anybody can write (almost) as he pleases, but I say that, when writing about something to choose, the watch to be chosen is the most important topic by a landslide, when compared to a name for a watch that not even has been chosen. And oh yes, I am surprisingly peaceful, most people deserve a nice life...

    Kind regards,
    Paul
