I am sad, very sad, just read and cannot believe this horrible news. It seems like every February we lose one of our beloved friends here. A man in the middle and best part of his life.

Such sad and devastating news. I'm so sorry for his family and all of his friends. We all will try and search to find a reason for this, but it is difficult to get any reassuring answers...
Mark, take heed in knowing your many friends are thinking about you having lost your best friend.
I'll send up some prayers for his family.

With Giovanni, it took nary five minutes after being introduced, and it was as though you were fast friends your whole life; I say this as someone who first met him barely a month ago in Geneva, and yet is shaken to the core to know that he's gone.

Passion, substance, style... Giovanni embraced each quality in equal measure. He will be sorely missed by this community.

A true gentleman indeed. Very sad news for all.

I never met him, but I know he was well liked by those who knew him plus his passion on this forum was clear to see.
For what little consolation that it offers, to his family and close friends I know how you must feel as so far this year I have been to the funeral of two people so very dear to me and as Bill said February seems to be a cruel month as a first anniversary approaches.

He was one of our charmings collector and a very god friend.

It's unbelievable so quickly our lives can be over. We were having fun together in Geneva less than a month ago! My condolences to Giovanni's family. RIP.

I refuse to believe this but it seems to be real.
Not even a month ago we shared our passion for watches and the good life in Geneva. I am very sad. We have lost a friend and a fine gentleman.

Horrible news. A vibrant guy lost in his prime. My heart goes out to his family and his friends, especially Mark. I too know what it is like to lose a friend who is more like a brother. Rest in peace Gio.
