    Sad, sad news.

I met Giovanni twice, both times at SIHH and during a collectors dinner, he kindly let me wear his BP, to ensure the crown did not agitate my back of my hand. A true gentleman.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

    RIP Giovanni

Sunday was a very sad day, and today is a sad day as we are saying our final farewells to a great friend, a husband, a young father, a collector and one of the most positive persons I have ever had the fortune of being able to call my friend.
Giovanni you will be missed by many - Godspeed my friend.

Natascha, Laetitia, Lavinia and Mark - we are thinking of you.

With wet eyes I think of all the wonderful moments I spent with Giovanni. So many to list here and I hope the time will come soon when I can reflect on all these splendid times with posterity and happiness and not the sadness cloud that is hanging over us at this time.

Courage to all the forum friends of Gio.

Gentlemen, today I found two pictures of the first time I met Giovanni. We met in Düsseldorf on October 21, 2012. I was at a trade show. Gio proudly picked me up in his Porsche taking me to his neighborhood Biergarten. He had just acquired his PPC. We each put our watches on the picnic table and we clearly were thought to be quite strange by the other patrons. This is a good memory on a very sad day.

So very sad, my sincere condolances to his wife and children, family and loved ones. I am sure he was proud of all his friends here, as i read all these cordial comments.

Thanks for sharing these wonderful moments with us Bill. Today was a sad day indeed. The church was completely full, there were even people outside. The saddest was to see so many young persons there. People shouldn't die at this young age :-(

Giovanni will always be in our hearts and we have many precious moments to remember but there should have been so many more of these moments.

Farewell my dear friend Giovanni :-(

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

Ciao Gio, I'll keep on walking without you but it won't ever be the same. I will never forget you.
