The IWC setting at SIHH looks as beautiful as ever, and so fitting to the luxurious Da Vinci watch family. The watches shown are impressive, very beautiful. I am glad that IWC succeeded to make a new family that really has its own character, without any doubt in mind. I hope to see more pictures of watches and people soon.

Hello Hans Goerter! I certainly remember you, from those turbulent days of the German forum. We never met, but I remember you and your great stories about your finds on watches, and on music.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

    Hi Heiko,
there were loads of IWC watches with the same beautiful classic style of hands, mainly with Caliber 89 inside: just google "IWC C89" pictures and you'll see.
    Best,
    Robert

If you look under the tourbillon, you can see the new escapement wheel.
The tourbillon also features a technically complex hacking function that guarantees down-to-the-second accuracy when setting the watch. When the crown is pulled out, two levers grip the balance rim like a clamp and block the mechanism consisting of the balance, wheel train and hands. New geometry in the pallet and escape wheel combined with diamond shell technology ensures that the watch’s 68-hour power reserve when fully wound is maintained despite the additional complications. Furthermore, the pallet and escape wheel are made of diamond-coated silicon, an extremely hard surface with good sliding properties that reduces friction and thus resistance, which in turn benefits the power reserve.

Here is a detail from the lug, it is a complex shape, really three dimentional,
    complicated to produce.

Yes Roberto, thats what I have stated.

Well, the hands design is uncommon for modern IWC models.

Only very few models from the 40s and 50s have that hands design.

That is long term ago :-)

Agreed. I didn't quite listen to your word "modern" :) but anyway, nice set of hands IMHO. And I'd expect the re-apperance of the most beautiful (to me) style of hands, the dauphine. Some very nice sets of hands in the past while I dislike many modern ones, e. g. the recent set of the Aquatimer hands - instead of the parallel-edge hands of the vintage model of 1967 - and the VC Aquatimer... They would fit much nicer to the parallel-edge hour marks of the dial. Just my two cents - not wanting to steal the thread, so all I said in brackets.

nice Laureus, but honestly, at first instance I thought I am looking at the Port Classic Laureus, or a smaller version of the Port YC Laureus...

That might be due to the perspective of Tonny´s picture. In the flesh, the watch is very well integrated in the design language of the new DaVinci collection:
