Going to send it to Shaffhausen for a full "spa"-threatment!Overhaul
But alas it has an GERMAN day indicator
Can this be replaced by an english one?
    Is it very expencive?

I still regret letting mine go for another brand that I no longer have either. It is a really nicely proportioned watch. Which dial color is it?

Is the question whether the date wheel could be changed out? I would suspect so given it's a modified 7750 and they are used in numerous models in some form.

It's likely possible. Just make sure you make the request specific to what you want the language of the day date to be.

I have a Portuguese Perpetual Calendar with German indicators. I thought it quite fitting when buying a watch from Schaffhausen to have the indicators in its own language. Soon afterwards IWC decided to have only English indicators. Understandable maybe, but I still like to have a seldom version of the watch with a seldomly to be encountered language. In the end, you will not notice the language anymore, at least I don't. So, if I were you, I would keep the German day ring as a special feature.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

All of the day-dates I've owned had English wheels, but I always thought having one in German would be pretty cool. That is the primary language in Schaffhausen, isn't it?

If you ask for the change to be done during the overhaul, it should be included in the price.
If you ask at a later date, it would be the price of a Maintenance Service + day disk and possibly + hands

This date wheel has done wonders for my very limited language skills. Have a great Sam!

SAM could be French (Samedi) or German (Samstag). You chose the only day of the week that doesn't discrimate between the two languages. I presume the next day for your dial is SON and not DIM - not to be confused with Dim Sun of course ;-)

Bas, change the day wheel with the SPA - ask for the original to be returned.

Good addition to your collection - cant wait to see the before and after pictures.

    Gentlemen,
I have once read that the only day by which you can definitely know if it is a german version is "DON" for Donnerstag = Thursday, as this abbreviation is not found in any other language used by IWC.
    Regards to you all
