Although I did not know Herr Zbinden, I have seen several tributes to him this week on FB after his passing. He was well respected by many. I was looking for an article on IWC in my archives and ran across a post Her Zbinden made in 2002 titled: The First IWC Collectors' Meeting in Schaffhausen .

Thank you for posting Bill. I was informed last evening about this sad news. His report on the first collectors' meeting was one of the reasons I wanted to learn more about IWC and the forum. RIP Hans.

I personally knew Hans and he was a wonderful person. He fought the good fight.

I have fond memories of our late friend, Hans Zbinden, and remember the first impression meeting him at the Basel Fair as a refined gentleman. May he rest in peace! He will be missed by those who knew him.
