    Shing -

    Great travelogue!

Missing your flight and picking up a new watch at the IWC Boutique in Zurich will be something you'll remember for a long time.

Let's meet up in Waikiki when you fly over to New York soon.

    Great post, Shing!

I can hear the conversation now.... "but I had to buy the watch, dear. I was stuck in Zurich for 24 hours. What else was I to do?"

Great looking watch, and a fine remembrance of a wonderful trip.

    Hi Shing,

I'm late to response. Due to load of works recently. Bad

What a great trip? I believed this will be one of the trip you will remember for your life time

Missing flight supposes to be frustrating. But, love to see the happy ending. I.e. taking a very nice pilot watch back home to commemorate this exceptional SIHH trip. well done

    Shing,

Can't think of a better way to leave Switzerland than with a Swiss Patroulle Chrono.

Tried to get one here in the U.S. but no luck. Told only available in France and Switzerland. If that is incorrect, please let me know.

BTW, is the contrast stitching on the strap a grey to match dial or a off white? Wonder if only the strap can be ordered and do you think it would look good with the 3717 ?

    As always Shing.....great pic's.

    Andy

Great report, Shing, it makes one almost being there! Missing your flight, well, a blessing in disguise? Getting a watch that only can be obtained in Switzerland is a high class souvenir, and quite a consolation. And I would never mind an extra day in Switzerland anyway, I always feel happy being there.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

Thanks guys - pleasure is mine. Taking and sharing the pics are easy - I am fortunate to be able to access them here in HK as I often remind myself. And hope u find the enthusiasm not overbearing :)

Andy, my understanding was that it is available only in Switzerland -- I didn't hear about France, but then again I did not ask. I have heard of ways to get it outside of Switzerland but for that do drop me an email (in my signature) as we need to take this off-line.

For the stitching -- yes its a gray stitching to match the dial. the nylon strap (material the same as my 2008 doppelchrono Top Gun one) is in ?charcoal-black. I have been contemplating changing to an alligator grey (which has to be custom made) but on balance I think the original one really fits the watch, so I am holding off on that decision for now.

    Brilliant Shing!!

Sorry for the late reply - not much internet coverage in the jungle and savannah of Uganda :-)

And congrats with that new marvel - that grey Pilot is really cool, and what a way to turn a disappointment into joy!!!

I had a great time hanging out with you and the other guys at SIHH - sharing the "2011 Shing IWC Experience" during the Thursday night dinner was a true treat!!
Hope to see you again soon my friend!!
