Can you guys please help me identify this old peace? I think it is the late 50's model (recon a cal. 89 but not really sure). It belongs to my grandpa and I would like to know more about it since it is the reason why like watches so much. Since I was about five or six years old i knew about IWC and wanted to own one some day...

perhaps you can take the case back off and check the numbers - it will remove any uncertainty but looks like a cal 89.

Hi Tin,
It's almost certainly a cal. 89 from the 1950s but you need to get the back open. You then can identify the movement and get the movement and case serial numbers, which can allow dating and model identification.
But as an alternative you might want to go through catalogs from the 50s and 60s to see if you find the specific model --it's not an uncommon one, and it is quite nice due to its lugs. For vintage catalogs, please click on the link below.
