The Pilots Family of IWC watches is astonishing in my opinion.

    Click below for a reminder.
    IWC Pilots Status 2011...
In addition the historical models have helped both IWC and collectors to align their passions for practical and innovative watches.

    My current collection has
Mark XII ladies (technically not mine)
    Mark XII Steel bracelet
    Mark XV White dial
    Mark XV Black dial
    Mark XVI
Chrono Tribute to Patrouille Suisse (Ltd to 200 Swiss Dealers)

and I certainly have room for others in my collection.
In addition (to 371701, Mark XV and XVI I did own:
Big Pilot (white gold, ardoise dial)
    Mark XI
    UTC / TZC Steel Bracelet

So I am very much looking forward to the 2012 novelties. So far I havent really taken any time to dream about what I hope will be revealed......but it would be great to see some classic iterative innovations as well as landmark changes. I am open to both.....

Any wishes from your side ?

Good question. A selfish reason for me: a CFBP = Collectors' Forum Big Pilot.

I say this not in competition to Alan's idea of a Pallweber (whether or not CF edition) which I am certainly up for either way, but just to throw out another idea, and because next year is the Year of the Pilot, and Pilot watches are well, in my opinion & based on what I have observed and read, generally a more popular series.

That will solve my mental agony and indecision over which BP I like most for which I have none. !!!. That exquisite crown alone drives me wild, lol.

Good idea - a CFBP - Collectors Forum Big Pilot in steel with Ardoise dial would be highly attractive.
The steel helps keep the price level as low as possible.

I think there should be a handwound Big Pilot with center second hand.

1 - A remake of ref. 431, mm 42, not bigger, with a nice handwind in-house movement, (a variant of caliber 97-98 with central-hacking seconds, would be kind of a dream to me).

2 - A fliegerchronograph the way it is but with cal. 89361 and the same dial your Patrouille has, since I find it extremely beautiful

It is important to specify that they must be a-magnetic, otherwise they will be "just expensive wannabe pilot watches." :)

I wouldn't mind if there was a ceramic model available too.

Lots of ways to improve... Like...

    Alternate color dials. Blue anyone?
    Titanium models.
    24 hour dials
    B uhr contemporary model
    Ceramic !
    A pilot with a 9 visible.
    Special back engraving
    Mid Pilot for smaller wrists?

Not necessarily an improvement, but would be a welcomed addition to the Pilot line-up.............what do you think??????????

Ceramic case with 24h sub-dial, or eliminate the sub-dial and have a 24h outer ring ;-)))))

All of those are good options. I'll pass on the blue, though. :)

    Andrew

For any IWC pilots watch collection you must first kneel down and pay homage to the Gods.
Add these to your collection and you will be truly on the right path

Good to see your collection growing again.

Come on Jim, "go big or go home", LOL!!!!!!!!!!

OK, on second thought, instead of 46mm, maybe the minimum size could be 41-42mm.

Will that work for you????!!!! :-)

Jim, I didn't think anything out of TX was small. Come on, join the BP club.

Yep...that will work...and help erase the heartbreak of not being able to pull off 46 mm of pure beauty!
