Yep...that will work...and help erase the heartbreak of not being able to pull off 46 mm of pure beauty!

    Jim, I stand with you.

My wrist too, cannot handle 46mm so 41mm-42mm would right size a BP for me (so..GBP?)

Otherwise, Yes I agree Alan got it spot on - and yes of course all the new Pilots will remain true Pilots so I expect soft iron cages ( unless of course - we are surprised by a 100% composite non feric element movement.

    Best regards
    Mark

Nad actually brings up a good point. I have read many a post over the years about the 46mm pilots being too large.
I have a small wrist but I don't let that bother me. I like a heavy watch and I don't care about the size at present diameters. I love it.
But if IWC made a 42 mm pilot, perhaps with some of the features in my list (ceramic, visible 9, or 24 hour dial) then this would provide the small wristers with a unique Pilot still true to the IWC heritage. And maybe those with a BP would see fit to pick up an intermediate offering.

I think the Pilot's line can do with a 44 mm Chrono with the 89361 movement. If the 3717 is such a success, it has to stay, like the 3714 stayed with the Portuguese line. That means the 89361 Chrono must be something special, like the Yacht Club is. Special for me would mean a titanium case, or a ceramic/titanium combination, a Top Gun specialty, maybe even inspired by the ceramic Da Vinci Chrono. Although it needs to have an antimagnetic cage I would say that it must be as thin as possible. What about a mesh bracelet for it? I guess if you mix this all together you might need a first rate designer to let it make look good.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

    Aloha all!

I’d like to see a Buhler Big Pilot based on the BP 5004 dial (the original was based on the BP 5003 dial).

    Here are some photoshop pictures.

I’d also like to see a ceramic Big Pilot based on the BP 5002 dial.

    Here are some photoshop pictures.

Nelson Herring would like to see a Special Edition Big Pilot for the Waikiki IWC Boutique - a “Rainbow Big Pilot.”

    Here are some photoshop pictures.

Finally, every year I hope that IWC makes a 47mm or 48mm B-Uhr similar to the larger original WW II version.

    Tracy,
I hope everyone is aware that the hands in the 4th picture are not yours but those of a young lady who works in your office. LOL

    BTW, love that ceramic !

Great line-up of ideas here. If I may add one: a 44mm pilot watch with ceramic case and a second timezone display on the dial would be nice. And yes: may the 9 return...

If only that were possible !

I agree wholeheartedly that these icons are key members of the pilots watch family. Thr Mark X and XI are on the shopping list.

Some super creative ideas. 24 h dials - what next ! Perhaps this will be the year of the 24 h dial ;-)

I am hoping that there will be no shift away from amagnetic soft iron inner cases. Do all the perpetual calendar BP also have an inner soft iron case ? See through back cases should be avoided.

It would be great to see ceramic and titanium cases - but perhaps of all I would like to see a variation of the Mark XVI in titanium or ceramic.

It's a bit too obvious to put the 89631 movement into the pilots - but perhaps it would be a winner with a pilots dial.

More UTC variations. Another St Ex tribute and finally some ardoise dial pilots - with steel case eg BP - although some prefer a classic black dial.
    No missing 9's.

Blue dials - I am sucker for that too. A Laureus BP with Blue dial. I am already standing in line !

Alan,I'm with you and Andrew, a sucker for blue dials. So a BP Laureus is a winner.

Maybe a world time IWC pilots watch along the lines of the IWC Porsche Design World Time Watch.

I really 'd like something like 3717 (with same size, not more), but with GMT or UTC.

    Mark XVI change...

Move date above 6:00 in a round window

    Add 3,9

Add "Arrow" pointer to end of seconds hand in RED

    Make numerals a tad thicker
