Ooops....forgot one last thing
Change strap to nylon like Top Gun
remake of the 1940 b-uhr!!!! clean dial and big in size!
Coincide with you except the dial of the Patrouille de Suisse.
I would prefer a cleaner one like the 3705/3706.
Hajoth, I really like this version also, a classic! I like all fliegerchrono's, all I ask is to have a in-house movement inside of it, keeping case size steady.
Despite orthodoxy, I (wrongly) consider Fliegerchronograph the flagship model of the whole pilot's line. To me, it's the most representative model, it maked generations of collectors dreaming for decades.
I think a ref. 3717 with the in-house caliber would attune all these generations. Caliber 89361 is a very good one, modern and with charming peculiarities, makes it the perfect movement for such tipology of watch.
Any wishes from your side ?
I would love for IWC to accommodate those of us with a smaller wrist with a 39mm chronograph, or any slightly smaller watch.
YES!!!!! I agree with you. I have a small wrist, so a smaller Pilot will be wellcomed by me. Now I have an UTC and a Pilot Chrono, but the last one is the biggest size I can use. For me, 42mm are the ideal maximun size.
I would opt for a simple clean Pilot like this one at 44 mm
Great idea Martijn, I'm in!!!
Groeten,
Bob
I dream about a Big Pilot with the new 8 days hand wound calibre of the Portofino. No power reserve indicator and eventually not even the IWC logo. In few words a 100% faithful replica of a WWII B-Uhr....of course in the current 46 mm case size.
Do you think IWC will ever make this dream come true?
I would like to see Father & Son both in steel. I have twins, so in my case will be Father & Sons. Hope IWC release steel version for both someday.
Maybe the missing 3rd and final TopGun will apear . . . . Who knows what it would be though, where do you go from ceramic doppel ? Maybe a ceramic doppel with a 89000 based movement, leather strap, gmt / utc on subdial and centre seconds . . .
Now that the 2012 lineup has been announced, I thought I would give this one a bump and see how many of you got what you were asking for :)
I for one came close with what I was looking for -

Picked the ceramic with 89000 based movement, didn't get the doppel chrono, but they have announced another gmt / utc watch from memory
Cheers,
Ben
Not necessarily an improvement, but would be a welcomed addition to the Pilot line-up.............what do you think??????????
Ceramic case with 24h sub-dial, or eliminate the sub-dial and have a 24h outer ring ;-)))))
Tracy, can you oblige Nad here with the design picture? He might just have something going here....24 hour version and all!
But bottom line Gents (and ladies) SIHH will surprise you! The 2012 Pilot Collection WILL NOT DISSAPOINT. So maybe hold back a while - you probably are going to find most of your dreams come true next week!
Best regards
Mark
