    Dimitris,
Can you post a picture of the scratch?

The ceramic cases are so hard that they are almost impossible to scratch. What you might have is a "rub" where some material was transferred to the case when contact was made.
Have you tried a moistened cloth with a little pressure on your part?

I concur with Oldman....but also keep in mind that all scratch removal is by reduction of the surrounding area. As such some buffing with a polishing cloth might work, but be careful not to make the area glossy. I have special micro-abrasion polishing cloths in various textures, and they use a sintered diamond material. In theory that material should be harder than ceramic.

    Dimitris,

Top Gun...Great watch! You will get much pleasure from wearing this piece.

No ceramics in my collection - so no, advise on scratch removal on my side - but again, scratches add some character no?

Wear in good health, and cannot wait to see the pictures.

    Best regards
    Mark

If the scratch appears metallic then the metal has rubbed onto the ceramic. This is what happened to my Carlson ceramic. It looked really bad. But I used an ink eraser and washed off and dried the area each time. And I got 100% of the scratch removed. Looks like new.

Ouch. I am a bit OCD with scratches myself, but I have been lucky to only have a few minor ones. Good luck getting yours back to its original state, which with this material should be possible.

Congratulations on the new IWC - and sad to hear of the scratch.
    Hopefully the disappointment will pass.

Congrats on the new watch, sorry to hear it has been scratched.

I have a TopGun Double Chrono which had a few scratches on it and it was recently sent back "home" to have an unrelated issue fixed with it. Whilst it was there, I was offered a case refinishing. My initial thoughts were "but its ceramic, what the hell are they going to do to it to get the scratches out - it is almost impossible to get the scratches in in the first place so it must be even harder to get them out!" but for what they were quoting for the job (a very reasonable amount) I thought what the heck I will let them try and see what comes back.

When I got the watch back, it was like new, no sign of any of the scratches / marks that were on the case and they even got rid of a scratch on the iron ring around the crystal.

My point here is, based on the fact that you have already scratched it you are more than likely to get a few more over the course of the life of the watch. If you cant get the scratch out yourself with something like like an eraser then dont go to too much effort as you may do more damage than good. Then, when the watch is 2, send it back for its scheduled grease and oil change and at the same time, get the case refinished - by the experts. I have just sent another watch in for a full service and case refinishing is part of the "standard" full service (as well as a crystal replacement)- I am not sure if this only applies to vintage watches or all watches that get a full service.

    Cheers,

    Ben

    Dimitris,

Lightly run your finger perpendicular to the large scratch. Is the scratch raised or is it recessed into the ceramic?
If it is raised then my method should work. You may have to apply a little pressure. At first, I did not succeed until I pressed a little.
However, if the scratch is recessed then I have no answer and you probably should heed MF's advice above.

I hope it is raised and you can remove it.

    Alan
