This one looks very real to me. Including the movement.
Cheers, Tilo
Thank You so much. And the only question, the wrong letter in word fiFe, where should be fiVe. Is it possible?
Is this original, replica or fake?
Is this original, replica or fake?
Hi, it's a replica / a fake / a very fake replica.
B.
For me it's very it's very important to know for sure about this Portofino
I agree with Tilo - The Portofino looks good according to the dial, case and movement.
The FIFE is a big concern though. Although errors do occur they are rare.
So to apply the first rule of watch collecting - If there is any doubt, Avoid.
I have no explanation as to how this has occurred.
For me it's very it's very important to know for sure about this Portofino
Best Regards

What a family we belong to and have become
Hello everyone! I gifted with an iwc watch recently and was wondering about the authenticity of the watch. If anyone could help that would be fantastic. Thank you
Can't seem to figure out how to post a picture but it's a iwc schaffhausen Portuguese f a Jones numbered 0065/3000 it has a black leather strap gold face border and black dial
Dear all, HAPPY NEW YEAR My name is Pavlos, I have an authentic IWC Porche design OCEAN with gold rim which I bought in 1991. I am in the unfortunate position of having to sell it due to the financial crisis in my country. (Things were still great when I bought it).
Unfortunately I do not have the original documentation any more. The watch is in very good condition as it was only worn on special occasions. How can I prove its authenticity? How much is the watch worth today in US$.
Further more I can supply pictures of the watch I just don't know how to upload them since it requires a url
Thanking you all kindly in advance
Ladies, gentlemen, I'm after some advice - really appreciate any you can offer! I am in the market for an IWC Portugieser Automatic, white dial, blue numerals. I am a proud owner of an Omega Planet Ocean, but I've long admired this IWC timepiece and feel like it's time to upgrade. The problem is, everyone keeps talking me out of it.
1. I am looking at purchasing a Nov 2011 second hand watch from a trusted seller. I landed on this blog because of my uncertainty about the authenticity of the watch. I have the serial number and the watch comes with the original box and papers. Is there a way to check the serial number to validate its authenticity?
2. A couple of owners of IWC Portugieser 7 Day Automatics have told me about their irritation at the erratic timekeeping of their watches. They say it runs fast. Now I realise with these watches, part of the joy is owning a serious timepiece - it's not an iphone, but do people find they vary and can they really be as fast as +30 seconds/day?
Thanks all.
An update here: I contacted IWC with the serial number of the IWC Portugieser Automatic 7 Day - I got this response:
"I would like to inform you that with the serial number you have provided, we were able to identify a Portugieser F.A Jones (Ref. IW544201). This model has red gold Indexes. However, I would like to advise you that this identification is not a proof of authenticity. We would therefore recommend you request a certificate in order to receive clear information about your timepiece."
So I'm slightly disturbed now that the timepiece I am looking to buy does not reflect the serial number.
Any thoughts here would be really appreciated.
Hi Alwxanderbeattoe
Well, the first rule is - If there is ANY doubt, BEWARE!!
Without clear pictures of the watch and the movement you are considering there is no way we can help you.
Best Regards

Dear all, HAPPY NEW YEAR once again. I did not get any feed back on my previous comment and am therefor posting it again and kindly requesting some help. My name is Pavlos, I have an authentic IWC Porche design OCEAN with gold rim which I bought in 1991. I am in the unfortunate position of having to sell it due to the financial crisis in my country. (Things were still great when I bought it).
Unfortunately I do not have the original documentation any more. The watch is in very good condition as it was only worn on special occasions. How can I prove its authenticity to some one who would like to buy it? It has the case number and I can inform of the dealer in Athens where it was bought from to confirm it. How much is the watch worth today in US$.
Further more I can supply pictures of the watch I just don't know how to upload them since it requires a url. I am trying to find a way
Thanking you all kindly in advanc
