Dear all, HAPPY NEW YEAR once again. I did not get any feed back on my previous comment and am therefor posting it again and kindly requesting some help. My name is Pavlos, I have an authentic IWC Porche design OCEAN with gold rim which I bought in 1991. I am in the unfortunate position of having to sell it due to the financial crisis in my country. (Things were still great when I bought it).
Unfortunately I do not have the original documentation any more. The watch is in very good condition as it was only worn on special occasions. How can I prove its authenticity to some one who would like to buy it? It has the case number and I can inform of the dealer in Athens where it was bought from to confirm it. How much is the watch worth today in US$.
Further more I can supply pictures of the watch I just don't know how to upload them since it requires a url. I am trying to find a way
Thanking you all kindly in advanc

My best guess is to go somewhere and get it appraised and authenticated like the authorized dealer. Get some documentation that it's verified authentic.

I will have to say with 99% certainty that this one is real (assuming that he took the pic of the movement from the watch you got of course). Remember, it is not that some watch company in China can not duplicate the work of IWC, they can. However, in order to do that, it would cost them quite a bit of money. You can not make money in replica market for putting that much money into the watch making considering they have to sell it to the distributor for $20-30 a pop.

In the case of the ceramic TG pilot chrono, The red plane on bottom of chrono seconds hand is true to the 388001, your comparing 2 different models. Interesting though.

    Hello,

Anyone have any feedback on this IWC? I'm curious if it is a replica or the real thing.

    Thanks.

    It's fake!

Also, caseback says it's Platinum. Platinum IWC Big Pilots are over $20k so if the price is too good to be true, it usually is.
