I don't believe there is any visual difference. If the watch comes with it's original paperwork, then you should have a warranty card available (expired or not) that has the reference/article number and case number on it. Beyond that, you'd have to open up the watch and note the calibre number on the movement.
An unreliable way to tell is the deployant clasp used. The new 5009 comes with a thicker and larger clasp.

However, note that this can easily be swapped.
I think 5009 already has ceramic parts, 5004 doesn´t.
I was told that in the case of the winding pawls on the 7-day automatic movements, these have been introduced because the amount of punishment the winding wheels and pawls are subjected to.

your picture shows an in house movement with 44 jewels,the new 5000 series movements have 42 jewels.Did you have the original pawls replaced with ceramic the ceramic pawls.
