    Hello,

I recently placed an order for a Spitfire Chrono. While waiting for the watch, the Porguese Chrono has been growing more on me. I am seriously considering changing my order! This is my first IWC. Can anyone please offer any advice on which model to get. I am looking for a sport/dressy watch. Thank you.

    Indecision

I like the Poruguese Chrono better but I guess it is up to you. There is also a price difference between these models.
    Good luck anyway.

Have you tried both of them?

Try them out on your wrist and see which appeals to you more.

I feel that both models are sufficiently versatile to be worn for sporty and dressy occasions. The beauty of it? Both are regular non-limited models so you can actually get the other one later on.

Good luck with your decision and post a pic when your watch arrives.

    a common scenario

that we fall in love with more than one IWC....
Personally I dont class the Portuguese family in the Sports watch category and is more dressy than sporty clearly. I always feel that the chrono pushers are less robust than those of the pilots and aquatimer families.
The pilots chrono 371701 is my favourite sporty/dressy watch moreover than the Spitfire collection but that is just a matter of personal taste.

Good Luck and my advice to you is keep "road-testing" your watches before taking a final decision......

    to add to your indecision

I would only offer up the question of weather or not you need a date and which you would use more often because of the date function or lack of it. While I have the Port Chrono I find that if I could only have one watch only it would be the pilots chrono.

Goodl luck chances are you'll own both, it comes as part of the virus ;)

I would just add to the many great comments >>>

...already submitted, that the Portuguese, although not a sports watch, is extremely versatile to wear all week, including casual weekends.

It is not suitable for any sports activities, but if your intention is versatility, then I feel that the Portuguese would be a better choice.

As also mentioned, you may eventually end up with both, or more!!!! LOL

Good luck with your decision and please keep us posted!
