Hi Juliana,
Good luck indeed. I find it always amazing that a model, while being in production, may not be successful, but when discontinued, becomes somthing to have. But then, the stock of 34 mm watches was maybe not so big to start with, and they sell out eventually in a few years time.
Because of your posts I looked around in Zermatt, and didn't find any 34 mm Portofino's. But I gave the regular ones a good look (shame on me, most of the time other ones interest me more). I must say, the Portofino's grew on me, you get a lot of watch for the Swiss Frank, and quite a beautiful one too. The golden one with the white/silver dial, and the steel one with the black dial were my favourites. My wife liked them too, she has your problem: wrists like pencils. So, no IWC for her, she settled for a beautiful watch, not too big nor too small of another famous brand. If you look at another public forum, you can find out which, as I wrote about it about two weeks ago.
I saw the small Da Vinci too, in different versions. Yes, you have to like them of course. I know of two other 34 mm IWC's: the Ingenieur and the Mark XVI. I guess both are gone, but who knows. The Mark XVI would be a killer.
Again, good luck hunting!
Kind regards,
Paul
