    Hey all..

I know its a 2011 model.. but i just manage to spot one on the second-hand market and luckily i have saved enough for it.. sooo naturally, sliverating all over the shop.. i have picked it up.

Only question i have is.... what other strap can i consider for this watch.. i like the Blue strap.. but what about a leather strap on this plastiki.. can i get an original strap for it?

    Regards,
    Bon Hon

Hi Bon Hon, I didn't know about the strap options, but congratulations!

I'm a big fan of ME Plastiki v2. Looking forward to a photo, or two, when you can manage it. :-)

    Bon Hon,

Big congrats on your Plastiki. A superb limited edition watch which is just pure Ingenieur... I remain disappointed that IWC dropped this Mission Earth line... for me, this is the Ingenieur equivalent to the Big Pilot.

The Plastiki only came with black or blue rubber options, so there was no official IWC leather strap option. There is the bracelet though as I'm sure you know.

I have however seen blue leather straps made in by third-parties - if you dig around on-line I'm sure you'll find it.

Congrats again and wear it in good health.

    The older brother says hello!

    Thanks Thang!!!

I had trouble sleeping yesterday... had to wake up and look at it.

Older brother looks really good!! And I totally agree with you.. why did IWC take away the Mission Earth line... and the new lines are tied to AMGs.. it a huge fan..

Guess I will have to save up and get the bracelet for this...

    Bon Hon

    Hi Bon Hon,

Congrats! The ME series of Ingenieurs really seem to idealize what the Ingenieur series stands for.

I answered a similar question in this forum a while ago: Alternative strap for Ingenieur AMG Ceramic (2nd post).

The quick answer is to turn your Plastiki around and look at where the release pin that releases the strap is. If it's in the middle, then any strap with a release pin in the middle should fit the watch. Other release pins might be on the left side, so any strap with a release pin on the left side of it should fit.

I'm pretty sure the black rubber strap on the regular Mission Earth has the release pin in the middle, so if the blue strap on your Plastiki has the release pin in the middle then you can interchange the straps.

I don't know the reference numbers for the straps though.

Or just go to one of the boutiques or authorized dealers and go see if they will let you try on different straps! It's a great excuse to go make a visit.

    Good luck!

    Francis

    Hey Francis, Thanks...

It's right smack in the middle... I guess it's back too the black rubber or the steel bracelet from the ME..

Thanks for the link to the discussion.. I will check it out now!

    Regards,
    Bon Hon

I notice something about the ME... its running fast about +5 seconds a days...

Can this be cause by my excitement and i constantly have it on my hands? or should i test it out further with different placement?

Seems to me to be within factory tolerances so I'd just sit back and enjoy the watch
