    Hi Guys,

I am a happy owner of ME 3236. I have a question that I hope someone could answer. Does the strap (along the horn) tend to wiggle about?

I am also an owner of Aquatimer 2000 and I didn't find this "wiggling" issue with the aquatimer. The strap on AT 2000 was so stiff.

I am a bit worried since I bought this watch brand new...just wanting to make sure everything's perfect :P

    Regards,

    Ingenieur Lover!

    Can you post a photo?

I owned a Plastiki 2 and the rubber strap is the same except the color. I am very happy with the strap.

Strap seems the same to me other than the color.

Thanks guys for your replies. On 2nd thought, I think they are fine!

Do you guys know if it's possible at all fitting leather straps from Big Ingenieur on ME?

    Cheers,

    Ingenieur Lover!

IWC doesn't have leather strap option for Mission Earth. I tailer-made a leather strap for my Plastiki 2.

Looks great Felix. I like the Plastiki dial, but have been put off by the rubber strap.

Thanks Dave. The leather strap brings another character to the Plastiki 2. Complement nicely with the original blue strap.

    Felix,
That leather strap looks fantastic. Very nice look on this fantastic watch. Is it black or dark blue? Thanks for posting!

Nice strap Felix! Where did you get the buckle from? Authentic IWC buckle?

It is a 3rd party buckle. Since this is an non-commercial forum, please send me an email if you need more information

The necessary measurements for ordering a custom made leather strap (the only option, as the leather straps from IWC for other Ingenieur models won't fit) for an IWC Ingenieur Misson Earth are as follows:

Lug width: 31 mm (strap width at lug end: 31 mm)
Strap width at narrow end: 20 mm
IWC Springbar width: 1,5 mm in the complete length of 20 mm
Due du the inverted lugs, there will be a cut out section on the lug end of the strap with a length of 16 mm and a depth of ca 3 mm
Watch case length including lugs: 55 mm
Length of original rubber strap: 115 / 75 mm
Thickness of original rubber strap: 3 mm
Width of original strap hooks: 5 mm

In addition I'd recommend taking good photos of the lug arrangement, of the entire strap stretched out and of the caseback for the strap maker to get a good idea of the original design.

    Hi Felix,

Nice strap, would you mind share with me where did you order the custom made strap for the Mission Earth? Thanks a lot!

    Alfred
