I just ordered my first IWC watch. I bought the Portuguese Chrono black/ steel. Its my first IWC and I love it :) I also bought the IWC Engineering time book, so I can read up on the company. My other watches are Tag Heuers and an Ebel. Those watches really can't be compared to that IWC though. Its like comparing a Rolls Royce with an ..... You fill in the blanks :) The feel and looks of IWC are breathtaking. Makes me want more

    Michael,
Thanks for providing this opportunity. There are many Davids in this world, but I have the honour that my Mother was from Wales (hence my name). I am a construction project manager specializing in rail transportation, currently on a high speed passenger rail project in Hunan Province, China. I will soon be 64 years young and own one IWC Fliegerchronograph 3706, with at least one more IWC to follow for my 65th!

It has been my pleasure, since 2010, to enjoy all the posts from the IWC Forum members, and receive such helpful information and advice, and hope that I can likewise reciprocate.

    Good day to you all,

My name is Thomas and after reading all of the previous posts, I felt obliged to post because it seems as if I am the first Canadian! I am currently living in Toronto, Ontario and have owned my Portofino Chronograph for just over a year now. IWC was the first watch then when the clasp closed and I looked at the face, I could not look away. This is my first IWC and I am lucky enough to own it as a University graduation gift from my parents. What a gift it is!

I am a Regional Marketing Manager working in the Marketing and Advertising industry. In response to some of the previous comments, I am for certain going to own another IWC in my life. What a tremendous brand and extended family I now am a part of. If any of you travel to Toronto, Ontario, Canada email (thomasschertzer@gmail.com). I welcome any day that I am able to speak to someone about IWC.

    All the best,

    Thomas

Robert Brooks, here, Tampa, Florida and Brevard, North Carolina. I'm an ancient academic with strong research interests in Middle East conflict. Five kids, 12 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Own a SS Portugeser 3714 white dial. Wish I had a black dial. Former owner of a Rolex Daytona mechanical...sold it to an Italian dealer, alas. In past have dealt with many Rolex submariners...none of which give the pleasure of my IWC.

My name is Jon, Im from Finland and work as a Business Director. I have not been very actively replying to this forum, but am actively reading correspondance. My first contact with IWC was end of 90's when I first time saw an IWC, a pilot chronograph, in a shop window. In my view it looked perfect, simple and stylish, understated as I've learned here in the forum. Later it turned out that my grandfather had an IWC watch, he called it the "Rolls Royce of the watches". Maybe this passion for IWC is in my genes :-) At the moment I use Big Pilot 5004, Portugieser 7 days white dial and a an ingenieur (322701 the first one from 2006). Im dreaming of a Portugieser Perpetual Calendar black dial red gold...

I've been interested in watches for about 6-7 years, but, mainly always had an interest in IWC..

My first IWC was a Spitfire 3717, followed by an Aquatimer 2000 (Boutique) then the Mark XVI. Now I have my all time grail the 5004 BP as you can see below!

For work I am a Global Solutions Manager for a large Internet Security company. My passion has always been Information Security and Mobility and now I get to live and breath both everyday. Dear all, my name is Jack and I work as a management consultant for a living. I have been dealing with an enterprise resource planning application called SAP for 15 years, and I am currently administering two such projects, one in Shanghai and the other in Hong Kong.

I like and own watches from several brands, but IWC is my unequivocal favourite and my everyday watch is a Portuguese 5001. I'm an avid admirer of the Vintage Collection, and I hope to be in possession of a full set one day.

Signing off from Singapore, my warmest regards to everyone, cheers!

    Greetings All:

My name is Andy Stevens and I've enjoyed viewing IWC collections for many years. I came down with the fever about 15 months ago when I purchased my first watch (MARK XVI). The fever has taken it's toll on me. About every 5-6 months I been building my collection. In addition to the MARK, I also have a AT 3568-White Dial and just the other day added a Pilot Chrono 3717. As soon as the new SPITFIRE CHRONO SS arrives, it too will be keeping my others company. Of course, now that the "Collectors Forum" watch is being discussed, I will need to add that one also.

I was born and raised in Southern California. Married young @ 19 and am still married to the same fantastic beautiful gal after almost 40 years. No children, 2 nieces to spoil and our very cute "to damn smart" Shetland Sheepdog (aka "Sheltie"). Retired 12 years ago from a U.S. Fortune 10 company as a Director of Product Management. Enjoy Bikeing, Boating, Running (with dog)Landscaping (OK...Gardening) and travel. Travel plans now include a trip to Schaffhausen for a IWC visit and tour.

The Forum has become part of my daily schedule and I have learned so much in such a short time. Looking forward to hopefully meeting other members in the future during travel.

    Best always to everyone,

    Andy
