Welcome to the forum, Jerry. It's hard to tell from this photo, although that
dial does look awfully clean. A beautiful piece, do you have any clearer
images of the dial and signature?

It certainly looks to be in good shape for its age, but still hard to examine
the details in the photos. Wait a few days, hopefully one of the real experts
    can weigh in.

Here's another cal.89 with a similar font, they did vary a bit:

I thought it a redial according to its listed price (only 1600usd)

but if it is a redial I have to say they did a goos work

your pic is the often seen shark lug ref89,amazing piece

    Hi Jerry,

I would turn your question into : 'Why should this not be a genuine IWC dial?'

As you know false is often difficult to distinguish from real.

The dials that are re-made are generally found on collector's watches, most
    sought after.

The cal. 89 dress watch was not typically such item, in contrast to the
    military Mark 11.

The variety of dials for these watchhes was abundant just as for the cal.
    8541.

Why making a re-dial if original ones are still available. The dial showed by
Ben is from the same type.

My opinion is that the dial is genuine.

    Best regards,

    Adrian,

    (alwaysiwc).

    Hi,Adrian

Firstly I wanna express my pleasure for your kind reply and also to ben

before I came to this forum,I thought maybe it is a place forgotten by
peoole。I was totally wrong of course.

Go on with your question:why should I think it is a redial?I would say the
listed price (around 1600usd little bit low for such a good example)

and then I did not find another "o" (of the "co")ends like this,at least I
    failed through the google

and last the example looks too perfect for its price even the seller cant be
sure whether the dial is original

But what is interesting is before I started the thread ,I have made the
decision to buy it,since one of my friend say even it is redial ,it is well
    done

Now lets wait and I will post some high resolution pics here for you to check

    Best Regards ,

    Jerry

    here are some new evidence

the pictures are from sold watch listed in "private eyes",a japan based
    online dealer

the "co " looks the same as the ref89 I have shown here

it is ref852 and seller says the dial is original (it looks so)

    what a find!

    Cheers

    Jerry,

This is what I meant : you found an identical logo. There are numerous
    variations.

And the price ; during the last 2 decades gold IWC watches were about this
price, often steel cal. 89 and the 85xx series were more expensive

Jerry....you would get the same end result if you compared two
mk1,2,3,4...15,16,17 service replacment dials...the japanese watch looks very
    un original.

I question the authenticity of this dial.
The paint overrun in the seconds track indeces is terrible.

To clarify, some of the Cal 89 dials look OK.
I am referring to the white dial automatic from Japan that has the dial paint
overrun in the seconds track plots
