Michael, best is to post photos here. Front and back.

You do not say if it's a pocket watch, vintage or contemporary piece. But posting pictures here, and if an older piece including photos of the movement and listing BOTH the case and movement serial numbers, will help the experts out here give you a better idea.

I would leave it in the boot. Unless, of course, it is absurdly cheap and you don't mind wearing it as a joke.

Absolute Fake. Only the IWC Minute Repeater, and this is no Minute Repeater, and PW's have a seconds subdial at 9 O'clock. The movement side is a dead give-a-way too. It's junk.

As per everyone else, it is a fake - or to put it the same way the person who sold this watch would probably phrase it - "No, not fake, same same but different" but I have to add one thing ti Bill's comments - you forget the Portuguese 5001, Big Pilot Japan Edition (i think it was that one, I know there area few BP's with sub-dials instead of center seconds) and just about any other 5000 cal with seconds sub-dial.

    Cheers,

    Ben

No one so far,has pointed to the obvious:On the rotor reads:
MADE IN SWIT ERLAND. Should read of course, and I concur with my fellow forum members that the watch is resoundingly a fake,MADE IN SWITZERLAND.

There are some nice pointers in this thread what to look for in a fake watch.

Therefore, the price is always a good check. If it's to good to be true, don't buy it.
