Saw this one at IWC Boutique in LV >>>

I believe. It was in the widow and not accessible to hold and touch. I am not a big fan of Squelette watches, but they are certainly lovely to look at. For me they are hard to read the time, but to each his own.

    This one is well executed,

    Bill

    i agree...

i agree bill... usually. but the top one i find quite easy to see the hands and it is exquisitely decorated.
the minute repeater is a bit busy for me though.
are these going to be released MF or are they just concepts?

I believe they are for boutiques as...

..limited editions and also some may trickle to a few "A" dealers. I don't have full details as to the models.

    Two stunning pieces!

They look very nice and it's great to be able to see what's happening on the inside. I agree with Bill that they are not the easiest watches to read the time though.

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

I believe they are for boutiques as...

    Dear collegues,
the Minute Repeater Squelette can be seen in the 2005 IWC catalog. It was manufactured in 50 pieces in red gold (IW524102) and 50 pieces in white gold (IW524101) and was sold mainly via the IWC Boutiques. Unfortunately that serie is sold out (I know this because I tried to get one two months ago).
The Portugieser Squelette I have seen last month in the IWC Boutique in Zurich. So sale has started.

Lovely: the first isn't, the second is

Both are astonishing accomplishments, and very different. The minute repeater is very complicated, I assume that there is quite some movement with the minute repeater in full action, that makes it very worth while to look at. And the Jones is simply not complicated, and shows a lot of air, making quite clear how it works. Maybe not so practical, but I would say it is a must have, if one aspect of it would not be so forbidding: guess.

    Kind regards,
    Paul, wearing Saint Exupéry Chrono

Who uses a watch to tell time anymore?

I must look at my watch a hundred times a day - but hardly ever paying attention to what time it is.

In this case, I guess that's what the repeater is for....

    Stunning pieces of watchmaking

and for those who appreciate the genius of watchmaking this is a great place to start.......reading the time takes on a whole new dimension - but when you have such a beautiful movement to appreciate and admire - who cares what time it is......

    Some more info

The minute repeater squelette was also made in 25 pieces in platinum.

I believe there was a white gold piece in the HK boutique recently, perhaps you can try contacting them if you're still interested?

Tank you Sean for the info.
In the meantime I own a Minute Repeater with a closed face and I'm not disappointed. The sound is great and I can read the time.
