I have let go from the hand of this preciousness?

    Dear Mr. Teplý,

Thank you for your message and interest in IWC Schaffhausen.
In your post on our IWC Schaffhausen website's forum, you mention you inherited a vintage pocket watch.
We are pleased to inform you that every timepiece leaving the House of IWC is registered for ever. Full particulars are recorded including calibre, material and case, and for more recent numbers also the reference number.
In return for a contribution towards our costs, you can receive a certificate with precise information about your IWC watch. The information on this certificate relates primarily to the model, case and movement. It may also contain notes on the watch’s specific features.
To enable us to issue such a certificate, it is necessary to send your watch to Schaffhausen. You cannot arrange this yourself: it will have to be handed in to one of our exclusive IWC Boutiques or to an IWC authorized retailer.
We kindly inform you that, based on the contact details you provides us in your message, we located a point of sale near you:
    Sheron
    Panzka 2
    Bratislava
    +421254647852
One of our long-serving and experienced watchmakers will then give your watch a thorough and detailed check-up at our Schaffhausen studio. If this careful examination detects that any component is not original, IWC reserves the right not to issue a certificate for your watch.
We remain at your disposal to provide any further information you may require.
    Kind regards from Schaffhausen,

I haven't requested a certificate myself but as far as I know those are not issued within minutes. One has to check the archives to look for the information and this takes time. Therefore it is not advised to hand the watch in yourself and better send it over.

Sheron jewelry is a long term partner of IWC. I don't know your precise location but if you do not like to hand your watch there, take a mile further and visit the IWC boutique in Vienna.

Quite nice to see IWC reaching out like that. I would highly recommend sending both pieces in for a spa treatment and a certificate.
