If so i like it !! Very classic and i think very close to an Original ref 325 dial ?
I picked this photo of Instagram where it is listed as Photo courtesy of www.wthejournal.com but i can not find it on that website.

This quite probably is a fake. If a date at all, IWC would have presented it in a nicer way. And the dial looks cheap to me.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

Funny, I actually got half way thru a post saying I didn't like it and thought it was a fake but didn't complete. It does look cheap. Just my opinion.

    Cheers,

After following a link here in the forum, I ended up at this site:
    www.wthejournal.com/de/news/view/2015-das-portugiesische-jahr-bei-iwc
and there were also this 3 pictures published, but now not anymore!

    Any ideas ;-)?

I saw the same thing, several wrist-shots. I saw mention of this, the annual calender and the new Yacht Club in a smaller size. I thought it was interesting that there was a revival of the International Watch Company script and assumed it was for a special anniversary edition - something that seemed quite plausible after seeing the special edition for Revolution magazine.

If it is real, it is an homage to a vintage piece - I believe I once saw a real one on Nelson Herring's wrist.

If real, I love the dial, but the date treatment is poor poor poor. The presence of the date is bad enough, but it looks like the background color of the date wheel doesn't even match the dial. That just kills it for me.

I don't think anyone of these watches look cheap. The pictures and the light quality looks like it was done in a hurry.

Maybe you're right Tilo. I just thought the first one didn't look quote right.

They look very nice but... have you noticed their thickness? So thin!! I don't believe the new movements will be so thin.

I think you cannot judge the thickness of the watches from these pics.

Well in my eyes this 5102 does look somehow cheap..but the price Tag will be quite high. Why did they put a date on such a watch ? the Date disc is not matching the dial colour

Will see the watch soon in Geneva but I doubt that I will like it.

I will keep the 5441 on my wrist.

    Greetings Martin

Since it is now out in the open can anyone from IWC give a comment? Or the Lucky members who were given a glimps while meeting in Schaffhausen?

If it is based on the 5102 it can have a date function, so a nice change to have it a 6 o clock. If it is a prototype the colours could be different from the final product.
But maybe it is a mockup or photoshop ?

"Five models in the latest Portugieser collection feature an arched-edge sapphire glass. It makes the case look slimmer and underscores the watch’s classic elegance".

This was taken from the "IWC CELEBRATES THE 75TH BIRTHDAY OF AN ICON
THE NEW PORTUGIESER WATCHES FROM IWC SCHAFFHAUSEN" article found on the IWC home page.

Possible that it is a mockup or photoshop on purpose, to feed the market with information to discuss and distract from the real new watches at same time, to keep the secrets till SIHH? If so, very smart PR campaign from IWC.
All speculation and a lot of fun!

    Cheers Chris

As soon as those pictures were published couple of days ago in the said website, one would naturally come up with opinions of the new releases. At the moment, for me, it is leaning towards appreciating the current line up a little more than before...

Those pictures may very well be credible prototypes and seems to coincide with the earlier official descriptions of the newly introduced models/replacement models.

Good thing is that SIHH is not too far away and we can look forward to some expert opinions on this very soon.
