While traveling to Düsseldorf this week for business, I was on a standing room only bus from the Düsseldorf Airport to a large trade show at the fairgrounds. Much to my astonishment I looked over and standing next to me was Ralph Ehrismann. I met Ralph four or five years ago at a Collector's Meeting in Schaffhausen. Ralph, as many of you know, is world class expert on IWC and PW's in particular. We only had a few minutes to talk, unfortunately. Ralph, who lives near Zurich, is CEO of his own company with his own stand at this very large trade fair. Over 100,000 people attend the four day trade show. He mentioned he has been so busy with his work he has not posted as often as he would like, but he looks forward to doing more in the future.

Once again, the power of this Forum is impressive. We can have GTG's without even knowing one is planned. I really enjoyed our brief, unplanned conversation.

Here we are outside the Dusseldorf Messe each with an IWC on our wrist.

P.S. I just found a picture of Ralph showing a few of his PW's at the Collector's meeting in Schaffhausen in 2007.

Pretty long odds on something like that happening. You never know who is going to cross your path.

Fantastic coincidence. Brilliant. If I recall correctly I was sitting adjacent to Ralph during the dinner. I seem so many beautiful historical IWC pocket watches that day it was a stunning experience.

You can never bump into too many Ralphs in this world.

Yes the world is quite small, everywhere you can find friends with the same passion.

Here also a picture of the same and famous and very exiting collectors meeting 2007.

Here we were testing Tell's Crossbow, an old but very precise piece of work, like the IWC-watches.

It's good to see you, Ralph! I remember shooting the Tell crossbow that day, too. Aren't I correct- didn't Tonny win some 'award'- was it for the 'worst shot'?
Hopefully your business show goes well, and here's to hoping you find time to pass on some of your IWC knowledge more on this forum.

    Travel safely, Bill.

What a great story...it is indeed a very small world! It would make my day to run into anyone here unexpectedly!!! LOL!
