It's here: our 7th Anniversary Drawing!
What can I say? My first watches were a Rolex Sea-Dweller, followed by a S/G Rolex GMT, followed by a SS and S/G Daytona. I then bought a s/g Breitling Chronomat for to have something different.
Then while visiting a friend in Minneapolis, an AD introduced me to IWC. My first was a SS GST Chrono automatic. I was hooked and the GST was soon followed by a SS/ Feliger chrono, and then a RG Port 2000 #747 which is a fantastic classic watch. I added regularly to the collection and picked up a Aquatimer on steel bracelet, a new Inge, and a Laureus Fleiger...I have no decided what to add next. Rest assured it will be limited edition with a manufactured movement.
Happy Anniversary IWC

Let's get SEVEN'ed and IWC'ed.
Many thanks to IWC and MF for organizing, cheers! :)
Memories from an old hand . . .
My first posting was on June 13th two days after the forum opened. After that numerous posts were added.
During my time in this forum I bought a considerable amount of watches among them were real treasures - lucky finds.
The forum specially Michael helped me a lot.
Monetaryly spoken this forum cost me a lot (not to mention the many many hours) but I got back more of that kind money couldn't buy
Joy, fun and real friendship!
Happy birthday dear forum and all the best for every single YOU!

This forum has caused me 7 years of:
1) insomnia, wanting to check for new posts at 3 a.m.
2) abstinence - the new vintage collection excites me more than other more readily available distractions (please don't tell my wife!
3) reduced savings - I have around 10 IWC's; that's more than one every year - with what I spent I could send my two kids to a good private university!
4) living with the same couch - why should I buy my wife a new couch when I can buy a new GST Perpetual without leaving the old couch?
5) learning to appreciate the good old fashion mechanical aspect of watches in this high-tech digital age.
6) ogling over some beautiful watches I have had the opportunity to purchase and handle at various watch events
7) most important, getting to know some really excellent people in the Chicago area - MF, whichwatch, David Ter Molen, Nelson (who came in for our GTG, Gordon, the guys at Marshall Pierce and countless other WIS's who help me maintain my sanity in knowing that I'm not the only crazy one who spends such a large portion of my disposable income on this wonderful obsession we call IWC!

The history of IWC is part represented here in these emblems. I give thanks the people who designed them and the legacy they have left behind for us all to enjoy.
Happy 7th Birthday to the IWC Forum. I am sure we, as collectors, all look forward to many more happy years of participation, and to the success of iWC as a company in the years to come
Regards

7 Pilots around my wrist
It all started when a 3706 Spitfire flew in,
and was promptly joined by a vintage Mark XII.
A UTC landed after flying across different timezones,
together with its escort -- a Mark XV.
A classic 3706 reinforced the fleet,
as well as a late-model 3741.
And finally, a 3713 arrived to become the squadron leader.
It's here: our 7th Anniversary Drawing!
joined after i got a portuguese and then it cost me a further 3 watches - utc, 5001 and inge. still very happy though!
During the past seven years,
I have bought dozens of IWC watches. I don't think I'm up to 7 dozen, but that number may not be so far away!
More importantly, I have made many new friends and had 7 times more enjoyment than I ever dreamed possible.
Thank you IWC, MF, and all readers/participants for making this site THE place to be for IWC!
Bought more than
7 IWCs, a good seven years and many more to come!!
cheers

No Cost at all.
Hi.
The IWC forum hasn't cost me anything at all. I feel I have gained all the way down the line.My knowledge of IWC has vastly increased. My internet skills have developed. My photography went digital so I could post pictures. And I have even won the occasional prize. Not to mention the privilege of taking part in the Best Watch Forum on the internet.
Cheers Louis.
Weight
Costs? Why don’t we talk about weight ? When I entered for the first time in this forum, it April 2004, my wrist was very light and I had the idea to learn more about IWC and one day to buy one.
In 5 years I did learn the meaning of IWC but I have some problems in moving my left arm, I gained 500g!
Happy birthday to IWC’s forum and to all members!
PS. I’m worried thinking at a “silver” celebration (25Th anniversary) of this forum, I would not be able to move at all my left arm.

One watch for each year (I wish)
Only a recent member of the club. Enjoying the Pilot on my wrist and thinking about another, maybe a Portuguese, when I have the funds.
