It’s here…our forum is now seven years old. In the world of the Internet, that’s a millennium. Even in the history of IWC, it’s five per cent of the life of a great company. That’s huge.
And did you ever hear about the Rule of Sevens? It means that money doubles every ten years at 7%. And there’s Wilderness Survival Rules of Seven. It’s also a rule in Bridge and in Blackjack . Seven is a lucky number. It’s our Forum’s lucky number, too.
So we need to celebrate. Here’s the deal: please post below what has the forum has cost you over the past seven years? Have you bought 7 –or perhaps 70-- watches on account of us? Spent more than you ever imagined? Got your boss upset with you? How about your spouse or significant other? Has this forum changed your life –and cost you plenty, either in hard cold cash or otherwise?
On your entry post, there's one more rule: no more than seven sentences, please. We've got to keep this lucky.
I suspect we’ll find out that we’ve collectively bought many hundreds of watches, perhaps spent more than a million Euros, and had all sorts of little skirmishes with our friends and family. All because of a forum tucked away on the Internet.
But it’s all in fun. I’m thinking we’ll have engaging stories to tell and experiences to which we all can relate (or not). And nothing bad has come out of it –more IWC watches, after all, are always good!
Good luck to all. Please post your entries here before 7:77 p.m. (Schaffhausen time of course) on Saturday, June 14. I’ll pick at least 7 –and possibly as many as 17-- winners for great IWC prizes and announce them here. I'm still waiting for FedEx to deliver the prizes, and will post some photos as soon as they've arrived. Sorry, the "est. 1868" T-shirts have been delayed ;(
But --winners will be selected by random drawing, so all you have to do is enter in order to have an equal chance to win. The odds are really good.
Good luck ---and thank you seven times over.
Michael
