It's here: our 7th Anniversary Drawing!

Well in pure monetary terms the cost has been low, no more than 7k. But I'm a lawyer and if I could charge for the hours I've spent scanning this forum, I'd be at least 777k richer...

    7th Dec.2007 ~ 77 US$ for a phone call

It was 07th Dec.2007 during Christmas shopping in Hong Kong when I made a firm decision to buy an IWC watch. When? Soon !
It cost me 77 US$ the phone call to my wife and convince her it was an investment.
I took 7 minutes of fast walk from hotel to nearest AD in Hong Kong and walked out of the shop with my Spitfire UTC on my wrist. Great feeling. I'm thinking of my next IWC watch.

This forum and the information posted help me purchase my first IWC 3713 Doppel, and recently an Big Pilot. I check in 7 days a week, and have now for the last seven years. Even though I'm a lurker I feel at home on this site.

    Cheers,

I hope time is on my side to someday own 7 IWC’s. Over the past 7 years my collection has stabilized to 7 respectable time pieces but hope to increase 7x.

May the IWC Collectors and the Form always enjoy the 7 Japanese virtues Candor, Fortune, Amiability, Magnanimity, Popularity, Longevity, and Dignity.

    7 times a day and 7 days a week, I log-in ....

... to this forum and obsessively check for new posts and information. Call it the IWC Internet Compulsive Disorder. This has spelled trouble for me at times, such as when I honestly tell my wife that I need to work in the evening while she puts the kids to bed. Needless to say, she often finds me browsing this forum --- I just have to check! -- instead of dutifully working away.

A happy 7 year Birthday to this forum!

Costed me $$ for a few watches
Costed me air tix to Geneva for SIHH
Costed me million hours of sleep
Costed me million cell phone minutes sharing the IWC knowledge I got HERE

Despite the costs, it is still a WONDERFUL deal! Happy Birthday!

    I'm in 7th Heaven because

of the friendships I have found among the Collectors Forum members. Being a part of this community is important to me. I am known in my township as the IWC ambassador and my AD actually calls me to tap into my limited, but growing, knowledge about the models. I am entering my 67th year in 2008 and I envision the IWC Forum and IWC collecting to be a significant part of my life. My first IWC, a 500101, was purchased in August, 2006 and when the Vintage Portofino is delivered soon, I will have accumulated 10 IWC's in 20 months.

Thanks Michael for making this a great place to hang out and learn and to IWC for including me in one visit to SIHH, one Collector's forum Meeting in Schaffhausen and three other separate factory tours. And, most importantly for the friends I have met.

Not the cost of seven years..

but the value that I have recieved is what has always kept me logging in.
I have the value of being 1 of 100 people to own a CFI
I have the value of all of the IWC knowledge that is at my disposal right here on this forum.
I have something else that I share with my 3 sons that gives us a glimpse of pasing it on towards the future and their sons.
I have the value of inetracting with wonderful poeple throughout the world and sharing our passion for IWC.
I get to enjoy my soon to be 5 IWC watches (one for every year I've been logging in)
I have the benefit of being involved with a company that values me as a customer, me as a community and the heritage they have built

The forum brought me definitely more than 7 days of fun and the IWC watches more than 7 years of pleasure when wearing them !

During the 7 years of this forum I added more than 7 IWCs to my collection and all can be related to the number 7.
The ref. 3227/05 (also known as CFI) for instance has the number 7 in it and if you take the remaining numbers 3x2x2-5 you get 7 again...

Looking forward to 7 more year here at the forum,
    [i]Stefan

7 years ago I had a very bad New Year’s Eve.
I was knocked down and taken to the hospital
It took me several weeks to recover and I still today I have some problems with my left eye.
The following year I received a check from my insurance company.
I decided to spend most of the money on my first “real” watch.
My hunt for a watch lead me to a Portuguese Chrono – and opened my eye to the wonders of watches.
I don’t have the Portuguese anymore but it will not be my last IWC…

    Seven years of passion

While not being a member of this forum since its start, I must say that my passion for wathches in general and for IWC in particular as grown up as I read the many posts it offers. I added two watches (IWC of course), and I expect to add two more, to complete the air-earth-water concept, as long as I offer to my spouse a third child. So, on April 11th 2008, our daugther arrived. I can now begin tthe search...

    Regards,
    Jean
