    Hi everyone,

I recently got an IW323301 (IWC Vintage Collection Ingenieur Automatic) from relatives. I really like it and wear it to work every day. But I found something really annoying that it would stop after I don't wear it for roughly 10-12 hours. So if i took it off after getting home immediately, I need to adjust the time again in the second morning since it stops.

Is it possible that it is defective or I use it improperly?

I'm totally new to luxury watches so pls forgive me if my question is stupid. Thanks so much.

To start the watch, you need to manually wind it about 40 rotations of the crown. Then, if you wear the watch all day the winding mechanism should keep it at a state of full wind. Thereafter, if you let the watch rest overnight, the small loss in winding can be made up by wearing it the next day.

I am guessing that you expected the watch would wind it itself sufficiently from a fully unwound or almost-fully unwound position. Not so.
