    Hi,

I am pretty new to this site, forum and luxury watches as well. I might sound strange, but would appreciate your help.

I am about to buy IW391007 watch. I like brand and design very much. Basically this is my first luxury watch.

I plan to buy black alligator leather strap in addition, as well as milanese mesh bracelet. I think I can change bracelets on daily basis and spending around 7000$ would give me three different looks, three different watches.

My two part question to you is if my approach is correct at all? If it is that easy to change bracelets on daily basis at house conditions?

Sorry for my English, it's my third language :)

    Thanks in advance,

    Regards,
    Giorgi

Hello Giorgi, welcome to the forum! While I do like to change the bracelets on some of my watches to change their looks, I do so quite infrequently. IMHO doing this on a daily basis can create two major risks:

    1. The spring bars that connects the bracelet / strap to the case may prematurely weaken and your watch may suffer a catastrophic fall from your wrist. Similarly, if the springbars are not properly connected, it may lead to the same catastrophic result!

    2. Even though I am careful and apply adhesive tape to the lugs while changing the straps, at times the process does result in a small scratch especially on my steel watches (ceramic would be immune, but the 3910 is steel). If done more frequently, the underside of the lugs may look really beat up after sometime.

With regards to the second part of the question, changing straps is not a difficult thing to do once you have some practice. But you have to be careful with the screwdriver each time you bring it close to the 3910's steel case as the screwdriver's tip will be hardened, and a slip of the hand may lead to a scratch. This is why I use adhesive tape during such operations.

The 3910 is a beautiful watch. However, If you want something where you would like to change straps often to change looks, you could check out the Aquatimers which have a quick strap / bracelet change option. Hope this helps!
