    Dear Friends,

My first post here and first time reporting an IWC GTG.

A few friends invited me to an IWC GTG in Singapore last night. Also in attendance was Mr Goris Verburg, the Managing Director of IWC South East Asia.

After dinner, Goris unveiled a box that he left casually on the floor while we are having dinner...

And what a box it was! It contained the IWC 2012 Novelties for the 2nd part of the year...

I saw the piece that I had seriously set my sights on not long ago (am now hunting around for a good deal)... the Portofino 8 Days Hand Wound...

    i4.photobucket.com/albums/y111/diamond_encrusted/20121109_220337.jpg

Here's a wrist shot of the RG version on my wrist. Yes, my mind is made

    i4.photobucket.com/albums/y111/diamond_encrusted/20121109_220500.jpg

The next piece I tried on was the Muhammed Ali LE...

Here's a really big watch. The Spitfire Perpetual Calendar Digital Date Month...

    i4.photobucket.com/albums/y111/diamond_encrusted/20121109_221130.jpg

It's a really substantial watch - very heavy indeed...

    i4.photobucket.com/albums/y111/diamond_encrusted/20121109_221204.jpg

Here's the Perpetual Calendar Top Gun... too big for me, but a really beautiful sight to behold...

    i4.photobucket.com/albums/y111/diamond_encrusted/20121109_220640.jpg

The sleeper hit for me is the following beauty... the St Exupery Chrono. Truly swoon-worthy!

    i4.photobucket.com/albums/y111/diamond_encrusted/20121109_220744.jpg

Now on to the non-Pilot's watches...

    The Dragon...

    i4.photobucket.com/albums/y111/diamond_encrusted/20121109_220722.jpg

    Portuguese Hand Wound Pure Classic...

    i4.photobucket.com/albums/y111/diamond_encrusted/20121109_220810.jpg

    The Ingenieuer...

    i4.photobucket.com/albums/y111/diamond_encrusted/20121109_220848.jpg

And another one of my favourites from the Portuguese family, the RG handwound...

    i4.photobucket.com/albums/y111/diamond_encrusted/20121109_220913.jpg

Finally, a table-shot of all who attended and the Novelties...

    i4.photobucket.com/albums/y111/diamond_encrusted/20121109_222337.jpg

I was really glad to be able to make it the GTG and would like to extend my grateful thanks to the organisers for the wonderful gathering.

Cheers and thanks for looking :)

It's nice to sit in front of a box of new watch models. With no sales pressure it's the best way to figure out what you really like and what you want to acquire.

Pauline ,Welcome to the forum ! Those are excellent pictures of exceptional watches. In my opinion the 8 days and the vintage Ing look the best on your wrist.

@ Alan, that's the pain Shing carries for having setup home in the HK Boutique....

....this GTG, was in Singapore (his true home town) :~)

Welcome to the Forum. Looks like a great time for everyone. Nice shots of the watches. Every time I see a picture of the brown Ingenieur I like it more.

Pauline, great report. A pity we didn't take a shot of the members present but nevertheless the photos of the watches are great. All thanks to each and everyone who made it to the gtg. Thanks to Kee Siew for liaising with the venue and Goris for the great effort in bringing a very serious(heavy) box of hardware to the gtg.

And of course, We miss Shing and his photo taking capabilities. Thanks Pauline for the splendid report.

Nice report Pauline and welcome to the forum.

I know (from another shared forum) that like me you have a fondness for the larger watches. However I was smitten by something a little thinner earlier this year and I'd encourage you to give it another look.

While on first look it seems completely different from everything else that has passed through my hands, the simplicity of the dial on the Pure Classic reminds of what first drew me into Panerai.

Good luck with your search wherever it should lead you.

For now, here's my Pure Classic.
