I have just purchased my first IWC which is the 3706.Its had a repair in the past and the plating on the hands was damaged. Anyway its in for repair at a well respected watch repairer but he is saying that he cant source the original hands but has an alternative IWC set that are all white with lume. I a thinking that I want the original metal look hands - am I right to ask for these??

Yes, you want the original style metal look hands.
These unfortunately will only be available to IWC Authorized repair centres. New hands will probably be Super Luminova while the originals were Tritium(which may, or may not be available anymore).
Thanks Mark. I've requested the correct hands and for them to keep the originals. Just really want it back now....
It will also depend on the year of manufacture, my 3706 purchased new in 2003 has Super Luminova.

The watch is a 2000 model. Is there a part number for these hands? Can they be ordered outside of the IWC service network please?
