I am pleased to report my Pilot came back to me safe and sound. It was away at Richemont's service centre for some warranty repairs. The sub-dial minute hand did not reset to zero, it was only slightly off mark, but still not as it should be.
Initially, after hearing customer complaints aimed at Richemont Australia, I was hesitant to send it there. I hoped to have the work carried out by IWC back in Switzerland. However the Richemont representative used her powers of persuasion to convince me to have the work done onshore.
I collected the watch on Saturday from a local Authorised Dealer. My Pilot was away for a few months.
I took some photos when I arrived back home to share here.
Inside the cardboard box was a very nice little watch case. This is a pretty nice gesture, even if it is standard practice.
And here is the watch, hand reset and all.
When I sent the watch off, I queried having it regulated to run a few seconds faster per day as it [still within specifications) was running a second or two slow per day. This appears to also have been done.
I was also glad to note that Richemont polished out some of the scratches on the bezel which are now fainter than before.
Overall, so far, 10 out of 10 for IWC.
