IWC AQUATIMER 3636

Good morning dear friends...

I own a 3536 aquatimer and recently i had an accident (the rotating bezel came completely off the watch)
The watch was taken to authorised service of IWC in greece and i recently took it back.
As far as i remember the bezel of the watch could not turn in any direction unless it was pressed down (and then we can turn it anti-clockwise)
Now after the service i experience the bezel turning anti-clockwise even if i do not press it down.

If you own 3536 model could you please tell me if the bezel rotates even if it is not pressed down?

Hi Panagiotis, my 3536's bezel only turn when it is pressed down. Hope this helps.

As SCFONG stated,
My AT 3536 omly rotates if pushed down! And only counter clockwise.
Bring it back to the AD!

The watch was returned to the local Richmond rep in Athens in order to be "re-examined".
Unfortunately i was notified when i phoned Richmond service that the watch has passed a quality test before i received it (after 3,5 weeks and 200 euros).
I was seriously disappointed.

I will keep you posted.

Panoulis,
Can you get compensation frothe post, fedex or tnt.
I assume you've had it send to you. So if it left the factory ok, then it has happened along the way to you.
I would check my insurance company right a way.

Hi once more...
i personally delivered the watch to the "watch shop" and they took responsibility to transfer it to Richemont service.
I don't think there was any problem during transfer.
I am convinced that quality test (as i was reassured twice) never occured by Richemont Hellas. (i cannot believe that someone actually performed some quality test and the moment i took it in my hands there was instant problem)
I find the situation embarrassing for Richemont since my trust is lost.

I was informed today that i will take the watch in my hands in 2 days (that means a total of 8 business working days for the second visit). The first "unsuccesfull" repair took 4 weeks.

I know this is an old thread but I have just had the same thing happen to me.
I have had my Aquatimer for over 10 years now and have worn it almost every day since.
I went to remove my watch earlier and realised that the bezel was missing.
the ring underneath the bezel was still in place leading me to think that the bezel was somewhere in the house. this didn't stop me retracing where I had just walked the dog.
While I was out, my wife called to say that she'd found the bezel in one of the shopping bags that I had emptied earlier.
With all the components back together I just had to puzzle out how it all re-assembled. Luckily, my Father in Law was on hand to push it down and clicked it back together.
A result I guess but it doesn't fill me with confidence that it won't happen again and that I won't be so lucky next time.

Hi BDW + welcome to the forum.
Be Very Careful...Your bezel is Not Secure....
It should be secured with 4 small screws. When you bought your watch, it was supplied with a small screwdriver with spare screws in the handle.
The bezel is designed to be removed for cleaning by the owner, if sea salt hinders the mechanism after diving.
If you don't have the screws + screwdriver, you will have to send it to IWC for repair.
If you do have them, post your email and I will send you the user manual for your watch.
I hope I have helped restore your confidence in IWC. My wife often dives with her 3536 and it has proven to be a fantastically robust watch.
