Hi everyone! I have a IWC Cal.64 12.5 lig. movement with a broken balance staff.

So I just bought a new one for the actual caliber. After receiving the new balance staff I was very surprised find out... This balance staff very small for my movement (total height 357). I checked the size of my broken staff - 420 with a broken edges...

Can anyone explain me what's happening? I just have no idea...
    Thanks in advance,

What you have appears to be a very early Cal. 64.

In the course of time the movements got thinner. I assume you acquired a balance staff for a Cal. 64 post 1904, but you need one pre 1894.

Herr Koenig is right, yours is dated 1893 , so pre 1894. Is was not uncommon that calibers were further developed but kept the same reference number.

Hi, Koenig. Thanks for reply. I'll try, maybe the balance staff for Cal. 52 will fit...

    Emil

Hi, Tonny. According to the serial number it's Cal. 52, not Cal. 64...

The caliber number is 96908, should be a cal 64.
